Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

The handling of everything for the Incredible by Verizon is getting ridicoulous !!

Verizon needs to get off their duff and get to work on releasing Froyo and the OTA to fix the signal bar gauge, etc !!

I'm rapidly losing faith in Verizon's technical abilities.

Outside of the fact that there is a fix out there being coupled and held, why is everyone flipping out.

EVO (the closest phone) had the update RUSHED out. It was not a good upgrade.

Droid, which has a vanilla UI is being pushed out NOW.

Incredible should be ready within 1-3 weeks...... seems fair to me.

froyo roms have bugs..every one..i have tried them all. Be prepared to constantly mess with your phone if you load a froyo rom.

Really which ones have you tried? Sound like not all of them. The newest Skyraider has 0 bugs that I have experienced. In fact I'm not enjoying full streaming flash shows and movies from hulu, abc etc. Camera works and has 720p recording with a light! The phone scores about 2-3 times higher on benchmark scores. I have copy/paste inside of gmail, chrome to phone, and the list goes on......yeah I would stay away FAR FAR away from the Froyo ROMs obviously they aren't for you. /sarcasm

Sorry but I have to agree with Yomonk and Tony on this. There are a lot of people that want to root for this reason alone. I personally would wait for the official update myself. I want Froyo as much as anyone else does. I agree with Yomonk on this. I to want it bad and hate the fact that all these other phones are getting it and the DINC owners are still waiting. I waited a month and a half for my DINC and you would think that after all of us had to wait to get these phones they would throw us a bone and get froyo out to all of us. Its just disapointing thats all. I have nothing against the people rooting there phones or recommending other people to do it, its just my personal feeling on it is to wait for the official update.

All what other phones? The Nexus One and rumors of a Droid roll out that I have yet to see. However I know rooted users on the EVO, Incredible, X etc that all are happily running Froyo ;)

I really hope it drops but Verizon is so stupid with their OS updates for all devices not just Android. They were slow when I was using a BlackBerry also.

Verizon has to make sure it doesn't effect a network with a couple million people on it. It's not that they are slow it's that they are methodical. At least that's what I like to tell myself :) All joking aside, Verizon has always been slow, but yet another reason to make your phone YOURS! Especially considering a one button root now, flashing takes minutes and all the gains you get from doing it. Open it up!

the 8/1 leak with the latest radio is pretty much bug free. It's a little heavy on battery use compared to previous roms, but i'm still able to get to about 26 hours between charges.

The 8/1/2010 Leaked OTA isn't a ROM. It's a patched radio. All it does is enable 720p recording and some other small changes. Battery life has been far superior to any other radio up to that point.

On every single one? How many bugs did you have before you started flashing? I found a few that were buggy before the leaked froyo was released but since then I have been using the Skyraider 2.2 and the only thing I had issues with was audio streaming. I can live with that for now. Once I get my speaker problem fixed and I reroot I will surly be going back to that one.

I agree completely with this, I've been using Skyraider 2.2 for about the last two weeks and have yet to have an issue with it. Paired up with the 8/1 leak radio I'm seeing a faster phone, better battery life and everything else I had with 2.1 working and then some. In my personal and professional life I wouldn't think twice about telling people to do it, albeit be careful doing it, but do it. At the finish line though this is something that isn't for everyone. So they choose to wait. They either know or feel they don't have the technical "prowess" to pull off such a 'risky' thing with their phone. Or they are worried about the warranty on their phones etc. All of which I might add are good things to worry about.....until you realize how hard it is to actually brick a phone with ROMs(Radio's are another story), and that rooting is reversible when/if the time comes for you to send you phone in for any reason.

I feel like a hippie from the 60/70's. I'm a Android Child. ROMs and Radios MAAAAAAAaaaannnn. Why is the Verizon always holding us down, we need to do a sit in, in their tech department and demand our OTA's MAAAAaaaannn. Hurry up pass the adb and usb cable I think I see the cops coming.......

Just like the last two times they were pretty damned sure.

I'm not saying this is untrue, just that I won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes. Until I see 2.2 on my own device, I'm not going to pass along any word of Froyo's availability on Incredible.

Too many people crying wolf this month.

Yeah? I'm not an Incredible owner so I haven't been following the Froyo stuff for it. I know there was a rumor for the 6th or something, but that obviously fell through. We shall see!

I'm not using the 2.05 radio that we were all on with the 8/1 leak. I'm using the 8/1 rom with the 2.15.00.07.28 baseband. Battery life doesn't seem quite as good as it was with 2.1 for me, but its still not bad. I tried some of the other 2.2 roms with the 2.05 radio and most of them were far worse than bone stock was for me.

I've been troubleshooting a few new apps but expect to have a better feel for the newer baseband's battery performance by the end of the weekend.

After all the rumored dates that have come and gone, I'll believe it when my DInc gets the "update available" notification.

That's what she said

Just got off the phone with a rep (calling in a replacement) and she said she just got an email today stating the 18th. She did say they were supposed to push it on the 3rd but it got pulled for some reason.

I hope so .. but like the others said so many false rumors I am not getting my hopes up anymore just to be crushed again :p , LOL . Hopefully is true but ..... we will see :)

yes, much like the orginal droid ,the rumors were fast and furious until wed of this week when the roll out of droid froyo 2.2 began .....so i will just sit tight and hope the 18th is the correct date.....if it isn't then maybe the 19th,20th,21st on so on and so on ,,,,,,

Another site is suggesting the rollout begins tonight to small amounts and will hit full force by August 18th.

Oh, the intrigue of rumors!

Re: Froyo coming on August 18th

Froyo is nice, but its not like its some revolutionary update that's going to be like a new phone. I'm running it now and I don't see what all the hype is about.

Re: not a word on Froyo...frustrating

I'm on stock 2.2 with sense and 2.05 radio and I have to agree that battery life is no better. If anything its a little worse than when I was on 2.1

The 15th is my birthday. I called Verizon and HTC by conference call. They agreed to push the update to my phone early. The 18th is supposed to be the release date. They also explained they would activate the front camera and reinitiate the magic wand feature for another three days just because it is my birthday.

Isn't that nice.
