Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

Well they didnt know . On the brighter side at least its got to be getting closer for alot more to be released . I mean at least it IS happening . Yeah I wished they had posted the file too but ... I'm mellowed down now aNYHOO I'm just hoping for the flood gate to fall so everybody chills back and no I havent gotten mine updated either still 2.1 . I hope its soon :)

It seems we all need to put the "how-to" in our sigs. Someone who is following this thread just got the update and didn't grab the .zip. :(

I'm not sure I understand why you all don't just pull the trigger on the rooted, official version? I'm a noob, and was able to do it very easily. I now have 2.2, rooted, with free wireless tether! It's a simple process, albeit somewhat time consuming, but simple nonetheless. I posted a link to the directions a couple pages back. Obviously, I take no credit as I just followed the link from someone elses post, but it worked flawlessly, and the wait is over! I highly recommend, as I'm in better shape now than I would be had I waited.....

Just a thought.....

A thought...

I doubt you could convince VZW that your download failed, but I'd wager that a phone that was already authorized to receive the update would automatically be authorized to redownload it. I bet that the update auth is a simple boolean switch. Once the switch is thrown on your account the system will probably try to send the update every time it recognizes that your phone isn't updated.

So, who amongst the lucky few is willing to try reverting their dInc to a previous state and testing my hypotheses?

I'll buy you beer...

I did root... and I enjoyed it. However, I ran into a slight problem.

Currently, with my stock, I can charge my dinc battery in about an hour and a half. With the leak OTA, it took me almost 7 hours to get a full charge. The CPU throttle was keeping it up around 800-900MHz. My battery was going from 100% to 93% in 15 minutes. When I unrooted (I still have s-off), all is well again. This is a well known problem.

I am waiting to see if the OTA update takes care of this. If not, I will simply accept it as a flaw and wait for a patch. If I don't see this problem, then I know something was different with the leaks I installed (I used atleast five of them and had the same problem)

Here is my picture of why I unrooted (AGAIN, I kept s-off so I can re-root) to see if it is fixed with the OTA update. (OFFICIAL imo is when it I get it as it was intended, not through a download that someone uploaded to megafile)

This is me at idle (88% idle) and still throttling at 900+ MHz.

Unfortunately, I tried to update a sprint evo after it had been updated with a little patch update after 2.2
the evo didn't brick its worked fine but ONLY FOR ONE MINUTE. the phone reboots exactly a minute after it boots up. this does not stop. either you turn the phone off or you take out the batter. I spent 3 days going through every possible way to get in to the phone and access had been blocked. usb connections and drivers, everything would verify and connect but the phone permissions it self would not allow any kind of rom flashing or update to go through. Phone was taken back to sprint and even the sprint techs could not fix it. JUST TRYING TO PROVIDE SOME HEADS UP BEFORE YOU FLASH YOUR RAM AFTER GETTING THAT SPRINT PATCH.

Why is this not news? Why no pressure on the front page? This SHOULD be embarrassing to Verizon rather than buried in a Forum with NO questions being answered beyond the VZW "yeah soon... all is well!"

Well, i dont want to revert it, haha...and im 4 years too young to drink a beer:p

However, the Verizon costumer support people tend to be very stupid, at least in my experiences...so, im guessing if i get the right person, i can trick them:cool:...but theres something holding me back from calling them, lol...and most likely if i did trick them the would use their voodo and push it before i have the chance to pull the .zip for youz guys...and ladies ;)

Ok not to turn this into a root versus official debate. But, you aren't actually at idle till your screen turns off, and even if this was true I've never heard of this issue. But it's well known, I would like to read on it if you have links.

You installed 5 different leaks? AFAIK there is only 3 "leaks" 7/27, 8/1, and 8/26. Where were you getting them from? I hate that you are having some sort of issue, however I've been rooting different Incredibles and my own Inc included many different ways with many different kernels and ROMs and have never had that issue. Some links would be cool, because I would like to see what people are saying about this.....

Check your inbox. I'm keeping this out of the main forum. Explained w/ links there ;)

I have read about a couple issues regarding charge time, although I've never experienced it on my device. I also carry extra fully charged batteries with me, so perhaps its just not that big an issue for me. I just enjoy the advantages of root, and don't see some charge time keeping me from that happiness :). Again, if I didn't have extra batteries with me, I'm sure this would be rather frustrating.

IMHO, they have repeatedly told people that it is going out, that it is a random selection process that will take about a week. IMHO, no one has any need or right to *****, even if they get it on the last day. A week. Come on, people, grow up. Verizon has not handled this as well as they could, IMHO, but, hell, I can wait a week. It's a sight better than the rumors that said by December.

This is, or course, JMHO.

IMHO, IMHO, IMHO, JMHO
That was intentional. It is called "repetition for effect" in rhetorics. :D

And the J stands for "Just".

Ok, I have followed all the instructions on the OTA, and still no update. Here is what I have done:

I have sacrifices 1 1/2 chickens. The other half is really POed, but he ain't going anywhere.

I have drank 1 quart of newt's milk, kind of tasty actually.

I have renamed my oldest son Verizon, he ain't too happy about it even if it is to the grater good of dadda's phone.

I have worn 3 different sizes of shoes, underwear (now pretty chaffed) and socks.

I have tried all 3 of the underwear and socks at the same time.

Still, no update. What have I missed? I am prepping the other half of the chicken now on the alter.

Help.
LOL. Just don't get Verizon anywhere near that altar. I am, of course, talking about your oldest son.
