Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

I am just astonished that no one here, at Android Forums, at XDA, or at Incredible Forums has been able to locate the update file/URL yet. Astonished. I don't agree with the naysayers who think all those saying they got the update are trolls (unless @VerizonSupport is a troll, too), but it does seem like something hinky is going on...

Someone on another thread who updated looked for the zip file and it was not in the cache. They speculated the final reboot after the update wipes the cache clean. Not sure if that is true, but all I've seen is folks begging for the file and no one actually with it.

I've waited this long, I can wait a few more days for the OTA. ;=)

Yeah, that's no surprise. You have to pull it before you accept and start the update. It's not like you lose the opportunity to update if you reject the initial prompt -- it will remind you every 30 minutes (and can always be accessed from the About Phone menu). Afterward is too little, too late.

I updated my brother's Eris to 2.1 a couple of weeks back and I believe you have to start the update process before the update.zip actually downloads to your cache. That would explain why people are having trouble posting the file if they literally only have the update file while the phone is updating.

That may be the case -- maybe only "straight Android" devices like the N1 and the Droid download the file first, while HTC has cooked up their devices to download the file only after the process has initiated? Just speculating. Of course, following gbhill's instructions eliminates the need to physically locate the file on an updating device: aLogCat should give the URL for the update on Google's servers.

too much information

People on the FaceBook fansite are idiots!...theyre all posting their locations...when its was said a million times that it has nothing to do with the location...not only that i posted an instructional on the pages wall for people to pull the update.zip and they talk to me like im friggin stupid and say that the guide is for Android 2.1 for the Droid...Its like who gives a flying fiddlesticks what its for, its the same method!

There are people who look for excuses to post personal information. Hey, I live at 123 main street and I'm going on vacation next week. I'm stuck in the Toledo airport and I don't know when I'll get out. BTW, the key's under the mat and please feed the cat before you leave with my belongings. foursquare, anyone?

incidentally, I'm in central jersey and I haven't received the OTA. But I'm driving to Florida later today and I hope that it can find me...

It's a line from a (yes, French) poem that was used to signal to the French Resistance that D-Day was about to start.

2.2 performance scores..?

anyone who has run the RUU or gotten the OTA had a look at quadrant/linpack scores?
i cant speak for my DInc - i'm running skyraider and can't be bothered to go back and get the RUU/OTA, but..
I installed the RUU on my missus' DInc and am a little surprised at the quadrant scores / Linpack scores.
I've gotten up to 1200 quadrant once or twice, and 37MPLOPS linpack.
its more consistently around 950 quadrant, 35 linpack.
just wondering what other folks are seeing.
i expected it to be much closer to the N1 quadrant scores
a friend of mine has an N1 running 2.2 and his scores are consistently superb.

im getting tired of waiting....i may install the leaked froyo that came out the other day pending if we get it today or not....this is rediculous
