True, but HTC did officially announce the EVO upgrade before Sprint did so it is not a stretch that HTC would announce the Incredible update before Verizon. Verizon has on more than 1 occasion told me to monitor HTC for information on the update, suggesting that HTC will make the official press release.

With that said, didn't I make it clear that I didn't believe the report.

They are reporting wrong, at least as of posting.

EDIT: The 18th isn't over yet, at least not anyplace in the continental united states.

Everyone really needs to calm down about this.

There are two scenarios: either the update is coming today, or it's not.

There are four ways you can act based on these two scenarios:

If you think it's coming today, and you're right, then you get the Froyo update. (positive outcome)
If you think it's coming today, and you're wrong, then you get a lot of wasted time checking for the update and worrying about it. (negative outcome)

If you believe it's not coming today, and you're right, then you go about your lives without wasting time checking for the update. (neutral outcome)
If you believe it's not coming today, and you're wrong, then you get a nice surprise, and haven't wasted time checking for the update. (positive outcome)

So really, not worrying about the Froyo update is the best course of action to take. You'll still get the update when it's released.

Its not here yet. Its understandable that some are pissed or irritated by the delay yet keep it civil folks. Delays happen, some RC's fail testing. All in all the delay is for the best.

I got tired of waiting for Froyo. So, last night I rooted and loaded Skyraider 2.5/Sense (first time rooting and using custom ROM). Now I don't care when the official OS comes out. Froyo is awesome. So fast and crisp. Do yourselves a favor and root/load a custom ROM. It's not that difficult to do.
