Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

I've had the worst phone service with the INC and i'm about to give up. If this update does not come out, i'm going to another phone. I don't want to but I don't have much of an option at this time. I'm on my 3rd INC now.

My original post was altered. I never predicted Sept. 1. Actually, I predicted Verizon iPhone to arrive Labor Day later in the thread, but even that was in jest. The original prediction was Aug. 23, and was obviously tongue in cheek. The entire thread was posted strictly for humor. Now that I think about it, changing my post is funny as "heck" (family friendly).

The Incredible will never get an offical upgrade to Gingerbread since it's EOL date is 3/31/2011. But, with Froyo, I will have everything I need in a smartphone. My next major purchase will be a tablet - Android or WebOS or Windows 7 or Chrome.

Verizon EOLing the phone means they won't be selling it anymore. They will still be supporting it though. Not to mention who cares....Devs will probably be making ROMs for this thing then. Hell they still are for the G1!!

OK this is weird; some kid on a flying skateboard just dropped a copy of the Washington Post on my stoop.

HTC Incredible to get Froyo on September 1st!

August 25, 2012 (Washington Post) ? In Android news, while users of the HTC Inconceivable, the LTE, CDMA, EVDO, Wi-Max, AM, FM, CB, Push to Talk and Short Wave, phone, available on Verizon Wireless, anxiously await their update to android 3.0, code named Honeycomb; loyal HTC Incredible owners are still awaiting the long rumored ?Froyo Update.?

Sources inside Verizon?s testing labs suggest that this, the 512th Release Candidate for ?Froyo,? is almost ready and that the antiquated OTA servers for Verizon?s 3G network will be re-activated soon. Anxious users stand by their phones diligently awaiting the notice that their systems were no longer ?currently up to date? and that their devices were now ?Update Available.?

?I never thought I?d see the day,? said Android Central poster tony bag o doughnuts, ?I?m just so emotional right now. My 156th replacement DInc just came in the mail today!?

Qazme, an Android Central member ranked as an ?Android Deity? because of his 234,549,034,290 posts on the site stated: ?I rooted back in early 2010, I?ve been running Honeycomb on my DInc for a month now, bug free, with radio 5.2.0.12.9.6.2. I don?t know why people are waiting for the Froyo OTA.?

Android Central Moderator mclarryjr has not slept in 18 months merging and re-merging various threads in the forums relating to the long rumored release date for the HTC Incredible. When asked how he remained so diligent for so long he simply stated; ?I drink a lot of coffee, really, a lot of coffee. It hasn?t really affected me an any, ?LOOKOUT?, negative ways. I take breaks for the hockey, but? HEREITCOMESAGAIN? other than that, I just merge and close, merge and close.?

A spokesman for Verizon stated, ?we hope to have Froyo out for the Incredible soon, however there is no release date at this time.? There is a link on the Verizon website for all update related news for the HTC Incredible, however when we checked the link was not active.

An anxious user base awaits.

;)

Now that was pretty funny lol. Good that was funny hahahahahahahaha.

So now that this has been retracted, changed, washed, turned around however you want to phrase it where is our "inside" man MJR or whatever to let us know what is going on!? Guess he isn't really an inside source, just reading from the same articles.

Hey everyone I hear they are changing the date to September 14th! /sarcasm

I like the Incredible but it will be the last HTC phone I buy. Bad charging of the phone out of the box as evidenced by bump charging should have been fixed within weeks and our phones updated. No cradles due to HTC's inability to produce the phone to match market demands. Good phone, lousy support. Now this delay in Froyo to the Incredible.

I heard from a friend who's an Apple guy that the OTA update was delayed from Sept. 1st so that everyone can pay attention to the Apple iPod/iTunes announcement.

ROFL ok. If you are seriously worried about desktop craddles and OS updates maybe you should wait till a phone has been on the market for 6 months next time before buying or see if it is all there at release before buying it?!

LOL, yeah I'm sure that's the reason!

I would buy another no problem .To me that bump charging isnt that BIG a issue and the signal and voice is just as good as the DX .Yes it would be cool to have froyo official and the maintance package ,,,hopefully still will , but its not enough to keep me away from HTC phones on that alone ;)

hey, can i play too?

I literally LOL'd. Co-workers are looking at me now.

I just read it again, so did they skip gingerbread and go straight to honeycomb as 3.0?

Starts rolling out tomorrow. Things moved a little faster than expected. And no, not EVERYONE will get it right away.
