Quick question, if I wanted to backup the software that's on my phone right now before I get the update, is there a way to do that? To create my own PB31IMG.zip and/or 2.1 image? I'd rather create a backup of my own than download one off the internet if I could.

Personally I did a nandroid backup, then reverted to stock recovery for the OTA. I also used Titanium backup to back up my apps from when I was running the 2.2 leak. As soon as froyo hits I can reinstall them all with one click.

I don't know why anyone would want to go back to 2.1... What's your angle?

i have that one too, but i havent gotten the Update yet so I would assume that you also have Android 2.1

Nope. Monitoring threads here and at XDA, Incredible Forum, and Android Forums. Lots of "I just installed it; sorry, can't find the file..." posts. Nobody who is ready for it has received it yet. But it will happen in due time (and probably faster than I get the OTA, lol).

Them talking about the update.zip has nothing to do with rooting. That's the file your phone downloads to update the phone....

1. the ones who get the update first dont know what it is all about(the update zip and unaware others haven't gotten it) or not eagerly waiting for it or they dont watch the forums so just install it and go on with their day , looks like now its gunno be later instead of sooner, but it will happen .

Doesn't matter if you are late in payments or current in your bill, though if you are due in your bill Verizon doesn't let you upgrade to a new phone but I think is not the case about getting Froyo OTA, I recall you that I stated in my early post, that I was just Kidding about.

Yeah I dont think your phone bill has anything to do with getting an update (froyo) of course as long as it's not deactivated

Even if you pay your phone bill weeks ahead of time it doesnt put you in front of the line getting an update . I know cuz I did , lol
