VZW should not state to theirs customers that Froyo is rolling out* when there is no sign of serious updates of Froyo on HTC Incredible phones after 3 days from the 08/27 date claimed as Froyo Update, I think is highly disrespectful. Some people say well Verizon have to re test to avoid troubles like Sprint had in their Froyo launch,( by the way Sprint fixed in days Froyo bugs in EVO) but they had a lot of the time to test it and get ready. Some people claim that it's rolling in small batches because it has to be tested first (again) or the other way send more than 10K a day could harm their server (LOL) that is not true. The true is that a very small percent like 2% of the HTC Incredible community claim had received Froyo
Check out the different lauch response after the Break. I am a Verizon Customer and this is my personal Opinion.

I couldn't wait any longer

Rooted and installed Skyraider 2.2 ROM based off of the official RUU. It is THEE best. Layout and design is way better than stock froyo. Even re-designed that bulky launcher at the bottom.

Have fun waiting on VZW everyone. I'm officially leaving this thread and moving on with my life, it's been real
 
I've been watching and waiting for this update all weekend. I am also armed and ready to share update.zip as soon as I get the update. But that is probably precisely why I won't get the update OTA.

How Depressing is that like all of them, "oh froyo is here" "got mine, installing now." Almost make me wanna go ape****.

the update is coming my girl works for verizon and yesterday she got the ota update to 2.2 so maybe its just taking a lil longer than we planned but its still coming. im in nyc btw..... also im still waiting for the update for my dinc she has hers and loving it :(

You do realize that 100k people a day are receiving it according to 'sources'? The first day they do a hard rollout on only 10k people to make sure there are no complaints about broken phones and to see how the servers handle the load. This is smart, if everything goes good they ramp up to 100k a day. So by now there should be around 110k people with the update. This thread makes up about 150 people MAYBE. And out of the 150 5-10 have claimed they gotten it.

So lets play with number, assuming the ration of people to updates from this site alone can scale to Verizon how many people possibly have the update?

Well 150 / 5 = 30% of people have gotten it in this thread. If 30% scales to Verizon network and we take our 'sources' numbers earnestly then:

110k = 30% of Verizon Incredibles. So how many total Inc are out there?!

(110,000 * 100) / 30 = ~ 366,667 Incs by my the numbers estimate. AND only a couple hundred of those people are posting here. Going by the hard numbers 8/28 - 9/2 starting 1st day at 10k then every day past till the 2nd doing 100k Verizon is kind of claiming 410k total phones on the network....well I think the numbers are close enough.

And you do understand that the internet android board users with Incredibles numbers in the hundreds here. Sometime I wish Verizon wouldn't announce anything and just start updating so the 'conspiracy theorist' out there wouldn't go bonkers. It's happening sorry you haven't gotten it, RUU if you are that impatient. Everyone will have it by the end of the week this week....sheesh.
