Toggle Beats Audio from a widget or profile manager?

I like Beats Audio when listening to music through the phone's speakers, but it sounds terrible when streaming over Bluetooth in my car. I'd love to find a way to have it automatically turn off when Bluetooth is connected, but I haven't found a way yet. I use Llama and also own Tasker, and neither one has an option to turn it on or off. I know it's only a couple of taps / drags to toggle it, but one of the great things about Android is the customizability. I'm sure automating it is possible and just requires the right dev to figure it out.

I never found a way. I'm still manually turning it on and off in the settings. I did notice that the car app (Automotive_Home.apk) has a beats audio option under settings. I'm not sure what it does, but I've scanned through the XML files to see if I could figure it out. I was hoping to find the right string to plug into Llama's or Tasker's custom intent feature, but no luck so far. I posted a similar thread on XDA, but it didn't get any replies either.

Could the setting be programmed into an nfc tag? Bluetooth on/Beats off, put the tag in the car and touch it when you get in.

It only turns it on and off. The setting will stay that way after turning off the car app. You have to turn it on again manually.

NFC only works with the right shortcut action defined for example by tasker...

Hope somebody on xda finds out then...
Do you have the shortcut to the xda thread?

Oddly enough on my old DNA you could switch it from the notifications. I was surprised it wasn't there on the One.

Keep in mind that I've read that the Beats off profile on some devices actually makes it sound worse than flat ... they EQ the bass and treble way down on the off profile. That way when one toggles between Beats on and off, it sounds like Beats makes more of a difference than it really does.

I have no idea if that's the case with the HTC One too.

Interesting. If that's the case with the HTC One, it's not overdone. When I have beats turned off and stream something over bluetooth to my car, it sounds similar to my HD radio, XM or mp3s from a flash drive. My ears may not be finely tuned, but it doesn't sound flatter to me. But when beats is on, the combination of the beats EQ adjustments with my car stereo's EQ adjustments causes distortion in the bass, and it just sounds terrible. So even if turning beats off causes it to be a bit flatter, it's still preferable to having beats on.

I actually think beats while streaming sounds pretty good. Better than my iPhone did for sure. Guess to each their own. One of the reasons I switched was the better sounding audio

Also looking for a solution for this. Beats sounds awesome on my phone & my ishower bluetooth radio but sounds awful in my car since I have a highly customizable after market deck. I wish you it would remember specific device settings.
