Top half of the touchscreen not working!!

IMHO, Z3compact is the last time Sony did something right. And now, after 1,5 years of usage, this phone showing some weird stuff. Just a couple of mm at the top of the screen, it won't detect any input. I cant pull the notification bar, and its very annoying. I am using a launcher now so I can register another gesture to pull the notification bar. I don't know if anyone had the same problem or maybe already solved in this forum. So please help!
*I've seen someone fix their digitizer with matches, is this legit?

Welcome to Android Central! Does it happen in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28384 If so, then it's likely a hardware issue with the screen/digitizer. Personally, I'd take it to a repair shop.
