Android Central Question

Android TV ver. 8.00
Toshiba 50U788VQ

My TV turns itself off during movies, issuing a warning that it's going to do so, and necessitating my pressing any key on the remote to exit from this mode. If for some reason, I'm not in front of the TV, it turns itself off.

I eliminated the ability to go to screensaver.
I eliminated the ability to wake up on HDMI.

I have no access to any of the deeper functions (controlling the remote, if that's where the function initiates from).

-Any help in resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Toshiba 50U788VQ turns off by itself

Toshiba 50U788VQ
OS: Android TV 8.00

The TV turns off, after a short warning that it's going to, and without remote pressing of any key, it will turn off middle of a movie or other.

Turned the HDMI wakeup off
Turned the Screensaver off.

To no avail.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain that's the model number? Nothing comes up when I search for it.

There's no power-saver option anywhere?

Is it definitely the TV and not your cable or other subscription.

Only accessible features are screensaver (disabled), and HDMI wake-up which I thought might do the opposite, so disabled.

For sure.
My old TV never had these problems, but it died due to a thunderstorm on top of my house (strangely enough, my Yamaha audio receiver did not suffer damage nor did the cable company box).

I still can't find that model number listed anywhere on the Toshiba site, or even doing a general Google search. Can you confirm the model number? Is that what's on the manual?
