Touchscreen not very responsive when phone is on flat surface.

Phone is Nokia 6.1

Touchscreen works fine when I'm holding the phone. But its not very responsive when its lying on a flat surface, like a wooden table. Putting my fingers behind the phone makes it responsive again. Is this a capacitive touchscreen issue? Because my old Galaxy s4 didn't have this problem.

Also I'm using a tempered glass screen protector.

It could be the screen, it could be the protector, it could be a loose connection inside. If it bothers you enough, it has to go into a repair shop for a diagnosis (and that's not free).
