Trade-in program / shipping envelope

I like the idea of using the original Pixel box - thanks for that! I may just use that and put it in a larger padded envelop when I do my return.

Also, did you folks return your original Pixel charger?

I'm seeing a lot of people say you can use the label provided on the original box the Pixel 2 came in... Has anyone actually confirmed this with USPS or Google? Is the label paid for enough weight? I've had USPS reject packages when the wrong container was used, and you find out a week later.

I didn't use the box, but I mailed my 6P inside its flip case and inside 1.5 additional bubble-wrap envelopes, and USPS verified its delivery to Atlanta. Total weight was probably more than phone + weeny envelope + li'l Pixel 2 shipping box.

Are you folks sending back the original charger and cable as well as the phone?

I won't be. I figure with how small the envelope they sent was, they are not expecting us to. I know when I returned my battery defective 6P and they exchanged it for the OG XL, they said not to return any chargers, etc. Just the phone.

Actually, the instructions clearly say to, "Put your phone in the bubble envelope, designed to protect your phone. Seal tightly. Put the shipping label on the front of the bubble envelope."

left mine in the phone case and put it in the envelope. The little bubble wrap should be plenty enough protection for the phone. The phones are shipping in large sacks with other evenlopes and unlikely to break.

why it matters I verified with Google customer support you can put it in your own package, but didn't specify what kind. I'm putting it in a bubble envelope

When trading in my phone I just have to send in the old pixel, we get to keep our cables and Chargers as most of you know. Score!

I just sold my mint condition Pixel XL on Swappa for $100 (after PayPal and shipping fees) more than Google's trade-in offer. :)

I checked Swappa and I am seeing $395 as the projected price. Did you get $500 for your XL?

Mine was 128 GB, Google Unlocked. Which were you looking at?

All of the recent sales for 128's are near or over $500.

Good info N4.
I've got a 32GB OG XL. Great resale prices.
How was your experience selling via Swappa? Never done it.

I used USPS padded envelope and package was delivered no problem.

So far, very good. I listed it Saturday and sold it today; probably could have held out for a bit more on the price. :)

Swappa doesn't charge the seller any fees (like eBay which is now charging 10% of the sale price). I did however pay an optional $5.00 "preferred listing" fee or whatever they call it - it just moves your listing higher on the search results page.

Hopefully my buyer will not turn out to be one of those people who tries to make false claims about what I shipped to him. I have no idea how Swappa handles such situations.

I have a second Pixel 2 XL 128 GB Just Black that I am either going to return to Google unopened or possibly list it on Swappa first to see what I can get for it.

My Nexus 6P (with a dying battery) made it safely with nothing else but the supplied packet. I just got the email that it was accepted for trade-in and I got the full $155 estimate credited to my card. Pretty happy it panned out well. :)
