Trade Ins

I've had this process take a couple months before. Once you get the email saying they received your trade in you are usually good. The one that took a couple months I finally got a email saying my trade in was manually approved.

It's frustrating, but just be patient.
 
I'm not sure what's going on with my trade . I shipped it on Friday 1/31. It made to Irving TX on Sunday 2/2. it is still sitting there with a Shipment Exception Weather Delay now for 4 days. As far as I can see there is no weather event in the area and Irving is not far from Coppell. I suspect it fell on the floor somewhere and has been forgotten (or stolen) and the tracking system marked it with an excuse. Needless I'm getting worried that somehow this will not end good.
 
I dropped mine off at Fedex Monday 02/03/25 (in Justin, TX about 25 miles from Coppell), it was delivered around noon Wednesday 02/05/25 and I got confirmation this morning (Thursday 02/06/25) that the trade in was successful.

Looks like this was not an S24 Ultra (which is what I'm waiting for). Perhaps they are saving those? Frustrating as mine got there Tuesday. Guess it's not FIFO

I wouldn't think the specific model of Samsung device would matter, but perhaps it does.

Unfortunately, I didn't order officially through my Samsung account, so I cannot follow trade status. I just have confirmation it was received and will have to wait on Samsung's email, which we all know can have significant lag time.

Question for those who have installed Android 15/One UI beta on your S24 Ultra. What are you doing? Are you just factory resetting and sending the trade-in with the beta software itself? Or restoring Android 14 before sending for trade-in. If yes, how are you restoring


I factory reset my S24 Ultra and was planning to pack up. But then realized it's on OneUI beta. Not sure if it matters, but I don't want to give these third party trade-in companies reasons to reject.


Edit: Downgrading to OneUI 6.1 using Smart switch. Better safe than sorry.

Restored to OneUI 6.1 using smart switch.

Tip: once you restore from smart switch, make sure you go thru the setup again and do a factory reset from the device. Reason being it'll ask for your device password during setup after downgrading from smart switch. You'll be in for bad news, if you just downgrade from smart switch and send it thinking it's already factory reset.

I've returned phones with beta but to be safe I would return it to 6.1
I'm probably going to that this weekend before I mail out Monday.

Good tip though
 
I've returned phones that were running a beta with no issues. I checked with Sammy support before the first time doing it and they said it was ok. I believe I've returned at least two phones that had beta firmware and there was no issue either time.
