Trade Ins

Question for those who have installed Android 15/One UI beta on your S24 Ultra. What are you doing? Are you just factory resetting and sending the trade-in with the beta software itself? Or restoring Android 14 before sending for trade-in. If yes, how are you restoring

I factory reset my S24 Ultra and was planning to pack up. But then realized it's on OneUI beta. Not sure if it matters, but I don't want to give these third party trade-in companies reasons to reject.

Edit: Downgrading to OneUI 6.1 using Smart switch. Better safe than sorry.
I sent mine in with the beta software loaded. Got the email today it was successfully processed.

I'm pretty sure all that are checking for are cracks and bad screens. I don't know for sure, but I don't think they have the time to deep dive

Got the email that they received it Thursday. Still nothing about it being successful.

It's crazy the number of horror stories I read from sending trade-ins in the US.

This was my issue when I first took advantage of it a few years ago. Happy to say all of them since have been smooth. I sent in my Google Pixel 8 today.

Anyone know what they do with all these trade ins?
The trade-in is not going to Samsung, they generally work with 3rd party companies who process the trade-in. They might sell it used in secondary markets, might work with insurance companies for replacements depending on condition etc. Same with Apple, Google or any other company, they have zero interest in our used phones and source it to 3rd party trade-in companies.

Here's Joanna's video from wall Street journal explaining the trade-in business
