How can I use odin to revive my dead fascinate after an ota update to gingerbread

I am stuck in the Android System Recovery (3e) mode and cannot used the up and down volume keys to do anything. When I pull the battery and try to go into DL mode nothing happens. It is simply bricked at the recovery mode. HELP!!!!

Im in the same situation as you. I'm not sure if an OTA update caused this but my phone was dying and then when I fully charged it, it had become unresponsive. Odin doesn't recognize my phone in download mode either.

I do, however, get the same exact screen to come up as the picture from the 1st page when I enter recover mode and I am unable to move the selection up or down. Verizon is sending me a new phone. Although, I am not sure if my phone is rooted or not. I had rooted it for 2.1, but then I downloaded 2.2 froyo OTA and never rooted it again. Does the root go away? If i have the same screen as the poster from the 1st page will verizon eb able to indicate if there has been a root or not? The verizon people told me that if they find out it has been rooted I will be charged MSRP, about $400.

Any input on the root status is appreciated. Thanks
