Tried Razr Going Back To My Charge Til Nexus Comes

I don't understand how people see a non-removable battery as a deal breaker, but are totally fine with non-removable storage. I feel like people are just creating excuses as to why other phones aren't as good as their precious Nexus, and when they get the phone they are going to pass off the defects and put it on a pedestal.

They've been holding out so long that they are blind to anything but the Nexus. It's a shame. What on earth does the Nexus have over the competition anyway? ICS? Whoop-de-doo. ICS is coming to the other big devices (which are equally if not superior to the Nexus in terms of build quality and specs) in a very short amount of time. Granted, it is stock Android, but with the skins coming so close to stock it terms of customization, and what they customize actually ADDS to stock.

Personally I'm going to be getting the RAZR, and while it may have shortcomings over the Nexus/Rezound (see screen resolution), there's no need to dismiss it for stupid reasons such as non-removable battery or "tethering issues" or it being "too wide". It's a great time to have an upgrade because we have 3 fantastic choices, each one with a choice audience. RAZR is an all around fantastic phone which appeals to the masses, Rezound appeals to audiophiles, and the Nexus appeals to people who just can't wait for their software upgrades. Honestly, do you really notice THAT much a difference in screen resolution from RAZR to Nexus?

What makes you think that ICS will be coming out in a very short time? I bought my Tbolt on launch day in March 2011. Verizon just officially sent out the ginger bread update 2 weeks ago. If course I already rooted and was using cm7 however I am quite wary of any company that promises a quick update to the next operating system.

I have an Incredible and HTC has a terrible record of updating their OS. That's part of the reason my HTC days are over.

If Moto promised to get it out quickly why not believe them? Of HTC, Sammy and Moto, Moto has the best track record of phone and bug updates.

Sent from my Droid, the only mobile OS that matters.

Best track record still equals months away.

Oh.Em.Gee.

Show me one test (preferably real life) the S3 cpu outperforms an omap4. Just.one. No? Bummer, dude.

Which is faster, a higher clocked core 2 duo or a slower clocked i5? The i5 you say???

Oh and test results showing the sgx540 hanging with the Mali-400, even though a much higher resolution? Hmmm, higher resolution having a negative impact on performance....got it.

It doesn't have Gorilla Glass? Haven't had a phone yet without GG...all my devices have scratched. A brand name is as silly as brand loyalty with a cell phone.

You can go sit down now.

PS: We have someone testing a Razr on IRC. Suffers from slowdowns due to the non-Blur you speak of. Battery also sucks. Time for an extended...wait, no I guess not. Oh and that green hue at low brightness is sexy too.

Lol, thanks bro. I don't even have to respond to him now. You know somebody is a fanboy when they are arguing on behalf of a phone that is clearly inferior to the other phone in said argument.

Meh

If you're already tired of a phone released a few days ago you can bet you will never be happy.

I don't have a issue with the non-removable battery, I just like the G-nex better overall for myself. The fact that the Nexus has pure ICS vs. ISC with a OEM skin is a big deal to me. From my experience the skin changes everything.

When I had the Bionic, the only thing that let me know it had Android 2.3, without looking at the settings, was the way the screen turned off (the old TV experience). I like ICS the way it is and, don't want it changed. When the OEM's add there skins it's almost like added a whole new OS. This is why, when people say, the other phones will have ICS soon, I don't agree, because it wouldn't be the same experience for me.

I think Android is improving to were skins won't be needed in the future IMO. From my experience smartphone performance works better without the skins. Anyway, that's my take on it, I hope you enjoy your Razr, it's a nice phone but, not for everyone.

For me it is a bit of a deal breaker because when I go on vacation or somewhere where I'm going to be not near a charger I bring along a second battery to get me through the day. Sure, you could get one of those external chargers, but I'd rather not mess with that. And, although I'm sure/assume there is a way to do this on the RAZR without pulling the battery, I have to pull the battery at least 1-2x/week on my Fascinate because the camera locks up. Aside from ICS a non-removable battery is a big detractor for me with both the iPhone and RAZR. And new Macbook Pro for that matter.

How are you tethering anyway?

I'm using the mobile hotspot feature. What I think the problem might be is that while the Charge assigns channels automatically. The Razr doesn't have that feature......
I am looking at trying PDA tablet to resolve the issue

See I'm kinda the same way about the removeable memory

I'm on the fence still. Maybe due to impatience being a geek I had to try it. But honestly slapping launcher pro on it it flies.....

I am enjoying my razr, it is smooth fast and the UI is very close to stock 2.3. If the GN is released before my 14 day exchange period ends I will get it, if it is not I will not lose any sleep over it.

I do have two complaints about the razr, 1 the screen does have a green tint when brightness is set to low, 2 it is too thin, I don't know how to explain it just doesn't feel natural to hold. I believe I will eventually get used to the thinness, if I keep the phone.

See I like the thinness, I tell you what gets me though. Is when u take the holder cover off. The bottom corners get to me. I help my g/f's droid charge after holding the RAZR u could feel the difference.

My father took some pics with his and emailed them to me....disappointing to say the least. Other then that I like the phone a lot. I'm still toying with the idea of getting one....

Yeah, it's not a bad phone, I'm actually thinking about it also but, I really really want the G-nex.
