trouble rooting, want it desperately

Im running 2.2.1 and im trying to root via doroot (one click) and I run into a few issues. Either y phone usb connection stops working during the process or the root attempt fails. I have tried this on 64 bit win 7 and I have tried it on XP. Now I have installed the motp drivers and the android ask. Help anyone?

Just search the forum here and download 'z4root v1.3.0'. Install the app and run it from the phone. You don't need to even plug into a PC and it actually works.

I have no idea what 'doroot' is, but it doesn't sound like it works on 2.2.1

If you have lookout mobile installed you need to uninstall it before rooting, you can reinstall after you root and you need to enable usb debuging

settings >> applications >> development >> usb debugging

then open z4root and let it do its thing

Because I need to use WiFi tethering for free. The PAID verizon 3G mobile hotspot doesn't offer enough data. I need to tap into my unlimited phone data for this.

1. Enable "Unknown Sources" under Settings >> Applications
2. Download and install z4root 1.3
3. Enable USB Debuging settings >> Applications >> Development >> USB Debugging
4. Restart
5. Run z4root
6. Allow reboot and ENJOY..

If the above does not work after a lot of time trying to root with the z4root app. Try to do a factory reset/wipe cache. Thats what i had to do. Start fresh

Do you loose all your mail and apps??? when you factory reset? because no matter what I do I cant root... was rooted before the update and have been trying all week with z4 and another
