Does the Note 8 have an issue with trusted places? I keep entering my home address and the phone keeps insisting I enter my pin.

Yup, Security check.

You don't want some random person added trusted places if they have your phone.

Maybe I didn't explain the situation properly. Trusted places is supposed to let me open the phone without the pin when I'm in a selected safe place like my own home. It works well on my S8+. That phone asks for a pin only when I'm in another location...not at home where it opens right up. With the Note, after I set my home as a trusted place, it still wants a pin every time I open it up.

I have Smart Lock on and it works with both locations and devices. Only time I have to enter my pin is if it's been sitting for an a long time. Tmo version.

Even when I set it up on my S8 originally, it seems flaky at first. I know what I you mean. I've had mine ask for my PIN a few times as well.
Does it happen ALL the time or just sometimes?
When I first set it up and was getting this, I thought my address was setup. It was a little greyed out and I had to select it to activate the address.
Also, click on the address and hit edit and physically select your house with the red location pin. That way seemed to do the trick for mine.

After the first day of Trusted Places not working, it appears as though it decided on its own to finally accept my home address and work as intended.

AT&T Version works fine, After 4hrs idle it locks. this is as intended tho. (not sure if this can be adjusted)

Cheers,
BR

I've had that problem as well. Hopefully it eventuality works correctly (for both of us).

I think it's an Android problem and not a Samsung issue. I have a Google Pixel and Trusted Places is flaky on that phone as well.

It seems the trusted places GPS location is pretty narrow. I had to add 2 trusted places at my house. One in the front of the house and one in the back of the house. Otherwise it would ask me for my pin also.

I have done the same thing with my last 3 phones. Seems to solve the problem.

Glad to see I'm not alone, yet annoyed that this is even an issue.

I've DM'd @SamsungSupport so we'll see this ends up.

After a series of DM's with @SamsungSupport all day... the suggestion is to go into safe mode which would prevent any third party apps from running to see if that solves my occasional issue. Kinda of frustrating....

I'll go through the process over the weekend some time & report back

The update today was supposed to help GPS. Have checked for a system update? May solve your problem.

Well this annoyance is back!

My home address is in and is correct. It hasn't worked for the last 2 weeks. Horribly annoying. I've deleted and reinstalled, edited name, even deleted from Google and re-setup. still nothing.

any suggestions?

Something is up with mine also. I went through and deleted them re did trusted places and now it's sporadic.

But o have been having issues with Google syncing for about a week.

Trust no one! If you have a trusted place, lay your phone down, walk away from it, anyone can now use your phone!
