Tunderbolt restarting

I'm 100% stock, stock battery, stock rom, s/off/not rooted.

-Top level app running
(Not sure what you mean phone was just in standby chilling)
-Background apps that may have been running that you may suspect
I don't suspect any apps but I do run launcher pro.
-Frequency that it happens
So far with in the first day of updates 4-5 times that I saw, doesn't mean it didn't happen more in my pocket. And has never done it so far when I'm actually using the phone.
-Do you use the VZW crapware
No but I'm not rooted so the bloatware is still on the phone unfortunately, buttttt, I have the icons hidden so at least I don't have to look at them haha.
-Percentage of battery you have left when it happened
happend all the way down, from 100% to the last time I saw it around 50%.
-Were you pushing the phone hard or was it idle, medium hard
It was just idling all the time.

Never had a random reboot since I got the phone on March 27th. After the update yesterday, I've had about 5-6 random reboots. This update is definately the culprit. Not rooted. Stock everything. Now my phone is bi-polar! So annoying!

I haven't had any unexpected reboots, yet... but... from the beginning I've been wondering if the reported reboots could be from an incomplete upgrade process. I did notice that during my update the phone rebooted about 3 times. Possibly more. I just let it sit there until I was pretty sure it was done. Then I rebooted it manually. Upon initial bootup from manual, I found what appeared to be a left over artifact message about how the phone will need to reboot a few times to accomplish these changes. My choice was "OK" or "Cancel". I chose "OK". Nothing happened. It was just ready as usual. So, then I rebooted it again, manually.

After all the above, I've not yet had an unexpected reboot. I've been stock before and stock after the update.

I wonder if some of the unexpected reboots are happening because of an interrupted update process. Maybe not, I dunno... just a thought. OTOH, I've been in a consistant 4G area the whole while, during the update and up until now. So I haven't been able to check the 3G/4G switching and if it could be a reboot issue.

I did think that the update process itself could have benefited from more explanatory statements as to what it was doing, and what to expect next.

I've now had four reboots since update yesterday. I wouldn't care if it was happening when I wasn't using the phone, but it's really annoying when I am in the middle of sending a message/email. I hope this is fixed soon.

About three times since I updated yesterday. I got up in the middle of the night, looked up and saw the glow of the screen on the ceiling (my T-Bolt is on a table nearby). Saw the clouds, I plugged it in to charge it thinking the battery was too low (it was at about 11%), thought maybe that caused it.
Right now, my battery is 80+%, went up to grab another cup of coffee, and glanced at my phone, it was in another reboot stage. I am non rooted, the only thing I thought might be causing it, is I reinstalled my Adw Launcher Ex and Homesmack app that I used to use with a DroidX I had. I am using Sense as default right now as I haven't had to time to configure ADW, so I don't think this would cause it, as it is not running in the background when not in use.
Hopefully this can get resolved soon.

I'm getting reboots every 20 minutes or so. Some as quickly as every 10 minutes, with no more than 30 minutes of uptime since the update. VZW is sending me a new phone, but frankly I don't expect it to improve anything. All the reboots are destroying the not so great battery life as well. Really awesome. The standard removing the battery and factory reset options didn't help anything either.

Running everything bone stock with the phone idle all day yesterday, except for the reboots

Top level app running
Running Dolphin HD browser, single tab dafont.com

Background apps that may have been running that you may suspect
Widget Locker, Launcher Pro, Swype, Handscent

Frequency that it happens
First time in about a month

Do you use the VZW crapware
Use? No. I am not rooted however, so it is present.

Percentage of battery you have left when it happened
Around 45% before reboot, 27% after.

Were you pushing the phone hard or was it idle, medium hard
Nothing serious. Light web browsing and texting. Phone was cool to the touch.

No the update isnt the culprit, I may have just now started happening for you but this has been an issue for alot of people since launch.
What apps were you running at the time?
Where you pushing the phone hard?

My phone just did a random reboot about 45 min ago. I haven't had any problems before this update. Who knows how many reboots I've missed since I up graded yesterday. I'll keep watching my phone now. The only app that I had used this morning was Whatsapp.

The new radio is the culprit. It has been out for over a month now for rooted users, and many have reported random reboots with it. The people who had these problems were able to revert back to the stock radio, or experiment with other combinations to address this issue. Unfortunately that's not an option for non-rooted users.

Zero random reboots before; now, 2 random reboots after the updated radio.

Clearly, they KNEW about this problem and just didn't bother fixing it.

RIDICULOUS.

Mine is rebooting like crazy, 6 times in the last hour. Completely stock, only app installed is Angry Birds.

I updated yesterday afternoon. Phone restarted twice after that, once during navigation and once in the middle of a call. Hasn't again yet. Never once had a reboot before this update. They want me to do a factory reset. If I do that will everything including my home screen layouts and icon layouts be returned to how they are now? Is there a way to get them to return to how they are now? I'm thinking this may be the time to just root? Still waiting to see if I have a reboot today though.

on the phone with VZW now... they have not heard of this...WHAT? the OP called them. oh well, typical answer from them. mine started doing this since the update yesterday.

My TB rebooted twice on the day of the update, and once a day since. Never had any problem before the update or since I have had it Not rooted, stock everything (just have not had the time to tinker with it yet). I use my phone for everything and use it heavily... many apps running at the same time and yes the battery gets hot. But I have not had a single problem at all, not even a hiccup! Awesome phone, a power house! All my problems with the TB have started after the update! Now.... let me tell you a story. I had HTC Dinc. Loved it ... power house for its time, NEVER had any problems with it at all!!! Used it just as much as my TB in every way. The 2.2 update came out and BAME!!! It would restart 3 times a day! I called everyone under the sun and then some. I did everything possible and ever rooted it and installed a new ROM... Still restarted every 3 days and got worse (so if you think that rooting it will solve you problems, I speak from experience, it does not)... soon it was every 3 hours. Verizon had no idea what I was talking about yet many other users posted all over the boards and forums with the same problems with their Dinc after the 2.2 update. Finally it got to a point where my phone went into a constant recycle mode and then never came back on... and you could not turn it on. Verizon finally replaced the phone and I never had a problem again even though the new phone had 2.2 on it when I got it. I am starting to think it is an HTC problem since it is now happening with my TB as is the rest of you. Don't know if anyone else has been through this before now... like myself, but it is not fun! These are new devices that are test and tried before they are released to the public. There is no reason any of us should have to put up with this and here I am going through it all over again!!! An update to fix the problem would be nice, but it never came for the Dinc. Big Red and HTC did not even acknowledge that there was a problem with the Dinc after the 2.2 update, at least not to me when I called them. So I would not hold my breath for a fix for the TB from them. Good Luck and please post if someone does find a fix. Your fellow Android and TB brothers and sisters will salute you for doing so.

Update this morning rebooted at lunch on its own..If these keeps happening VZW going to have a busy weekend taking calls

My stock TB was rock solid since launch day with maybe 1 reboot. Since the update I've had at least 10 reboots. I just turned off LTE to see if it helps at all.

I was totally pleased until this.

Random Reboots

I updpated my Bolt late yesterday and it rebooted about an hour later while Navigation was running and Bluetooth connected to my hands free device. I shut the device down at night, and this morning after I turned it back on, it rebooted. I called Verizon and was instructed to do a factory reset. I did the factory reset and so far so good.
