Turning Digital Wellbeing Off

You can't compare unless you've run both ways for a period of time.

Ah, maybe I didn't make myself clear, in the beginning it was in beta stage, I believe wasn't able to disable so until it came out of beta and able to disable didn't see a difference..

I never even opened DWB, I assumed (wrongly) that I would have to go into it to activate it like a lot of other Android features. My phones been running great with no slowdowns and great battery life, but I decided to turn it off because no point in having something running that you don't use.

I'm curious to see what if any difference it makes in my phones performance 😋
I'm also wondering what other features are running in the background that I don't use 😕

I don't really care about the benefits, real or imagined, of disabling Digital Well-Being. I like to be able to turn off any feature for which I have no use. Two days+ on a charge is enough and without games or what's called social media I have a good working relationship with my Pixel 3.

Now comment did you just disable your digital being or turn it off completely in disabled? How are you getting 2 days plus on your pixel three? I am getting a solid dayAnd half from 100% battery to dead battery and I do charge it in the car for Android Auto and sometimes at nighttime before I go to sleep but that's about it. I will say that I have excellent battery life on my phone.

I never had any problems with battery life but I was having bogging down issues. Since it being recommended to me to turn DW off a few days ago, my phone has been much better when switching between apps. As long as my phone lasts from taking it off the charger in the morning to putting it back on at night, I dont really care about battery performance over days.

yeah, I admit I'm a bit uptight about battery usage. I don't know why but I just became like that I like to maximize and optimize my battery usage every day. I'm not a huge gamer whatsoever. The most I do is YouTube and different multimedia apps on my phone that's about it. That's why I love having dual speakers. But I did turn off digital well being as well.

It can't be Disabled in Settings>Apps, correct? On my phone, the Disable button is greyed out. All you can do is turn off Usage Access for it.

Ok, even though I replied earlier that I never really had any battery life issues, and thats still the case, I can tell its going down quicker with DW being off this week. Typically my phone battery matches my watch(ticwatch pro) battery life through the day dead even. As of right now my watch is at 73% and my phone is at 58%. Since I got the May update, Im hoping that helped with some of the bogging down and Im going to try turing DW back on.

For me off or on is about the same I can't notice a difference. I've had DW off for 4 days now and same battery life.

Yeah just about the same thing here. I still have digital well being turned off but no noticeable difference.

I've been getting 6 or close to 6 hours of screen time almost constantly since turning it off. It's never been this consistent for me.. and since I went over to Q and the dark theme it's even more consistent. Weird

I never really had battery issues though . But performance has been solid and fluid.

Dang 6 hrs of OST?? I can barely get 4 sometimes. I guess I been using the camera a lot lately and I know it used a lot of battery. How many accounts do you have setup? Like Gmail accounts, instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, WhatsApp that sort of thing bc I heard the more you have the more it drains as well even if your not receiving notifications. I got a few so wondering if it has something to do with that as well. Would you be able to post your app usage and screen on time in a day or so to get a better understanding of your usage? If not it's cool just curious to compare my usage to yours. I'd love to get 5+ hrs. I'm on the pixel 3 xl and based on my usage it says it should last me only 11-12 hrs. Before Q it would be from 18 hours to a day+. I did perform a factory reset after I upgraded to android Q beta 3 to make sure everything was good but still not getting the best battery usage.

Weird in at 1.5 hrs of screen on time and 75% left this means if my usage continues then at 50% I should be with 3hrs screen on time aka if this is right then when reaching 0% it should be 6 hrs. So maybe it's less when I'm using the camera more. I have to do some testing without touching the camera to compare and then j guess j could say yup depends on my app usage.

This is right now...

I usually use a lot of camera too, but hey. I guess it's Instagram right now haha

I think I had it plugged in for a couple of minutes today to transfer a file. I see the graph has a little uptick

See right now for me days 2 hrs and 53 mine with 22% left. So weird it's def not good battery life. Are you on Q beta 3? I notice when going to Android Q the battery got worse for me.

See look at my usage the Google app is the highest and it must be when I use the Google news feed when u swipe to the left. I use that often but I still feel like the battery is terrible. 11.5 hrs it usually lasts and that # has been like that for a long time. Yours was around 15+ which was more what I used to see before j upgraded to Q.

Turned mine off. Don't use it so why would I leave it on logging things in the background. I won't ever look at it.
