So I completed step 2 of root today and decided to flash Fresh .5.3

Wiped data, but forgot to wipe SD card. Began to boot loop so I read that I would need to partition the SD card. I tried to Flash back to Fresh .2 in order to backup my SD card and began to boot loop there too.

So I go into recovery and partition (0,0)

I'm still boot looping Fresh .2 and I can't flash anything else (read: my backup) because I wiped the SD card.

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Have you tried wiping everything.I don't remember how the evo recovery is set up,but wipe data/factory reset, dalvik, and ext then try flashing a rom.

The problem is that the SD card is wiped so there is nothing on it to flash.

hmmm, wiping the sd ext shouldn't format the card. have you been able to take the card out and make sure there is still something on it? i have killed a card with the phone and i know of others that have too. i am curious to know if your card was killed by the phone, too.

I personally have killed more SD's than I have fingers but UTnick hit on a point thats probably being over looked ....

1) unless you're going to use APPS2SD .... theres no reason to partition your card. Not partitioning a card wont cause a boot loop. You need to wipe data and dalvik. Not wiping data and dalvik will cause a boot loop.
2) Unless you've partitioned your card, when you attempt you wipe the SD partition in recovery you'll see a message that tells you your card is not partitioned so wiping failed. This makes sense right? If you don't make a partition ... it cant wipe a partition.
3) This probably really boils down to not doing a full wipe (data, dalvik) and is fairly easily remedied. Search around and you'll probably find 1,000 answers BUT ..

A) power phone off by pulling battery. Put battery back in
B) Hold the volume down button while pressing the power button (this should bring you to HBoot)
C) Select "Recovery"
D) Wipe, Wipe, Wipe, Flash
