Uk delivery 1-2 weeks status changed from pending to preorder??

Hey guys..
Ordered the 16GB with an estimated 1-2 weeks delivery time on Dec 4th UK.
This evening my order status has changed from 'pending' to 'preorder'

what is the deal? anybody else have this happen to them? does this mean our delivery times have been pushed back?

It's not really a difference, you technically preordered because they will ship when it's available to order. There is no difference and I don't think your time has been pushed back, you should've gotten a backorder email but we al know how much google as ed up. Well you'll still get it in time with when you ordered it.

Mine says in wallet 27th pending, but in play store Dec 6th preorder. I'm in the US obviously, I'm just curious about where the 6th came in...

Same thing happening in Canada today as well. Some people got charged for the order, some didnt.

One even got a shipping confirmation with a tracking number.

I have asked them again for an update on my order and it was the same bull as last time

"Orders are shipped based on the estimate in your order confirmation email. Once an order has been processed you'll receive a second ship confirmation email with your tracking number. It may take 24 hours for the package tracking to return any information for your tracking number.

If you have not received a package tracking number after the time quoted in your order confirmation email, please let us know.

No idea what it means, first change in status in 8 days and it seems like a backwards step.

There we go angry ranty email sent back to them hopefully it will shake somebody hard enough to warrant a reply but I highly doubt that.

Hi, just phoned Google and it means that when it was pending it was checking your credit/debit card. Pre-order now just means waiting for the stock to come in. So whatever your delivery date was that's when it will be delivered...'Although the Google staff said: 'Hmmm that's strange... I wonder why it says pending...' He then said orders SHOULD be sent out in order. So the 3-5 days, 1-2 weeks, 3-5 weeks then the 6-7 weeks. He also said that he doesn't know why its like the way it is with orders a bit muddled. But he said that's all the info he has and all the info he could give out. He was confused.com!!! We shall see!!!
I ordered mine at 10:30pm 6/12/12 in the UK

There's a thread on Xda-developers about a bunch of people in the same boat, doesn't look too promising tbh. But what can you do but wait until the 19th before we can actually complain.
