UK: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Don't think there is a difference to be honest, 2 SIM card slots, one for SIM, other for 2nd sim/memory card.

Just been having a look. Bit of a cheat really, I thought ok you can use 2 sims but if you do there is no place for an sd card. It's one or the other. Not that I normally use 2 sims, but did think it might be an option when we visit Australia next year.

Having the option of 2 Sims is very handy. Worth popping the SD card out if required. ( 128gb is more than enough for me, all my stuff resides on the cloud )

Does the 6gb of Ram vs the 8gb of Ram play any part in your choices ?
When you consider the iPad mini 4 had only 1gb ram and the Note 8 has 6Gb ram and both are very effective.
I play Fortnite on the Note 8 with no delay or stutter, often with other apps open.
There will be no noticeable difference in the Note 9 if you choose the 6Gb or 8Gb
It often helps to activate the developer options in order to reduce effects that cause lag when opening apps

My decision was based on my usage as you can see, 512gb would be way over and above what I need and I rarely play games, I have a PC for that, so 8gb of memory was not on my list.

8gb of memory might be useful in some intensive apps and I'm sure we'll hear about it when it happens. I think Samsung should have released just one variant or the other not both. When people look to buy phones or upgrade they are looking for improvements and not pay through the nose for them, that's why I'm not paying over £1000 for a phone, £899 is bad enough and I think next year I'll probably hold out as the price will surely be way into the £1000 Mark.

You're quite right in saying they shouldn't give two options. I can't imagine how anyone would want more than 500Gb on a phone (Including SD)
Or 8Gb Ram instead of 6Gb Ram

I play most of my games on either surface pro 4 or my PS 4 or a laptop
But sometimes I do like to play on the phone if waiting or just chillin

Oh and my Note 9 is costing me just £649 from Vodafone

Just out of interest I just dug up my Galaxy Note 3 order.....

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (EU, 32GB, Black) £415.56

Now that's from 2013, prices have crept up eh!

I've used just over 20Gb of storage on my s8 so also for me 512Gb of storage just wouldn't be used.

I'm not a gamer myself and do not tend to have lots of apps open at the same time so 6Gb of Ram I think will be ample.

Especially as my s8 sits up well on 4Gb.

I don't use Dex either so an extra £200 in my case isn't warranted.

I'll be buying direct from my local Samsung Experience Store after launch once I'm happy after watching YouTube reviews from people who have bought it.

Much respect to the early adopters.

I happened to get the free Dex dock last year which was the Pre-order bonus with the Note 8, I have used it a handful of times and I really think it could be useful in some scenarios, especially people who travel alot for work. It's a very interesting piece of kit, but I mostly use it as a charging dock lol.

In the UK the Dex unit was given as a freebie with eligible Samsung phones.

Quite a few ended up on auction sites and in shops that specialise in buying gadgets !

Even now Dex is built into the N9 I still won't find myself using it.

Had an email today from Samsung support 'we've received your order' the same email I received when I ordered the phone, hmmm odd.

I went into Vodafone chat to check that ' my order /upgrade to Note 9 had gone through OK
Customer service:' so you would like to upgrade - I can arrange that for you '

After explaining to the girl (?)
I was told my order would go through ok

I won't rest until its in my hand! Lol

Haha. Sounds vodafoney.

Seems DPD doing the delivery this year? Which is great for me as I have my driver on Facebook and usually pester him on the day. Or get him to drop it off at night if I'm oot.

Yes DPD. I'll be away when it arrives so my DPD man will be safe but I'll still be tracking!
