UK LG G3 Wireless Charging Issues

I have just received an OTA update so will test if this fixes anything with charging later on.

Just checked for an update, lo and behold there is one. Hopefully this will sort out the wireless charging issues.

I also bought a back on e-bay and have had good results. The first day the phone got very hot, but it hasn't happened since so I'm wondering
if it was something else causing that.
I have the round LG charging plate and I'm using a Seidio case with kickstand. If I place the phone on the raised kickstand is just off the charger it either doesn't work or it keeps connecting and disconnecting like others report. If I slide it up onto the charger so that the kickstand is on the charger a little I get a good solid charge without it ever disconnecting constantly.

I put mine on ART & the issue came back - Back on delvick so far OK

Slowly losing interest in the G3

I just got my LG G3 (Euro int model) and I am noticing 2 things. One the UI, transitions etc whilst not slow are soewhat a little stuttery is all I can describe. Not buttery smooth as I would expect for a phone with this processor / spec. So what gives? Early (LG) Software with crappy coding that will gradually improve? That sucks as I don't get that with my old Iphone 5s or from what I have seen other high end Android devices like HTC one M8 or the S5?

Secondly I have the wireless charging issue! Tried three charges all exhibit the same issue (well a cheap one from Amazon doesn't even register) but the two other 1st party Qi chargers all charge byt go through the cycle others have described..... Charging battery graphic % displayed with beeps then screen goes black and I assume not charging then more beeps screen comes back on with the battery % graphic then goes blank and so on..... this repeats like every few seconds and its just unacceptable!
So I spoke to LG and they said they had no logs of this issue which i find hard to believe but also is worrying if lots of others have the same problem.

For info I am having theses issues with the stock OS build / ROM with no ART implemented or the other setting changes re high temp etc.

Does anyone have anything definitive about either of these issues (mainly the wireless charging). Is it hardware or software? Does anyone have a solution???

I put my phone in silent mode and turn off data when I go to bed, it charges quite happily on the LG Qi charger so I'm guessing this is a software issue. No disconnects, no charging screens after the first one when you put it on the charger either.

So I'd you don't turn off data and put it in silent (shouldn't have to do that should we?) so you then get the beeping and screen turning on and off every few seconds?

I think its silent mode that stops it as then you don't get notifications. I just turn off data anyway.

Only the AT&T version uses PMA

My issue is related to mobile data. If I disable mobile data the phone happily goes to sleep while charging. With mobile data turned on it constantly wakes up and bleeps about charging wirelessly.

I had the same problem. first i switched off developer options and reset the values to default. i also switched off lock screen widgets and weather animations. made sure that NFC was off (just incase). lastly, under display settings, i switched off "smart screen" face detector. Then Shut down phone.
I put it back on the wireless charger, and it works fine. Maybe it was just coincidence, or maybe switching off these things helped.
Will monitor it for a few days, then start putting things on one by one. Will update you all if the problem persists.

My G3 got a system software update today (uk, bought sim free, currently on '3' ) and all my wireless charging woes have gone, I have a 3 coil QI charger at home and an original LG wireless charger on my work desk and both just now work without any bleeps etc.....thanks LG for listening to your customers!

What update? Can you check it out at the about section? I have the v10g right now - got it a few weeks ago.

I just picked up a VZW last Monday and it's running v10b, no updates avail. I bought the LG circle case and the LG stand up charger and have this same issue. Its rooted but I haven't done the thermal mod. I hope someone figures this out quickly...

OK, so my previous post is worth nothing. The problem persists. What have figured out, is that if I want it to charge wirelessly, I have to shut down the phone, then start it up and then it will take to the charger without any complaints. If I try again later, having not restarted, it will stop start. I recieve a software update (v10f) but it did nothing.

Did you have any signal issues using your G3 on Three network? Mine was bouncing all, over the place so I had to return it.

Same problem here with the qi charger that came with the phone. Keeps constantly waking up and beeping.
