Unable to assign specific ringtones

It lets you assign specific ringtones for individuals in your contacts. You can make part of a song, or all of it, the ringtone for say, your brother.

It PREVENTS you from doing that.

It does so because it's trying to do this automatically, and randomly.

Turn the feature off if you want control over customized, contact-specific ringtones.

When I try to edit a contact, I scroll down to Ringtone Id, it's grey, so it won't let me change anything. It's just set to a default. I've even tried Zedge. I'm stumped on getting a custom ringtone for my calls. Please help.
