unable to hear ringtone through headphones ?

I was wondering if any one has the same problem.when i plug my headphones in I can talk to people they can hear me i can hear them music plays fine the problem is if I'm listening to music and a call comes in it doesn't ring through the headphones so don't know when someone is calling unless I'm looking at the phone I'm using the headphones that came with the gs 3 and the headphone is plugged in all the way. I talked to Verizon they said that that is just the way the headphone are and that i would have to buy a pair of bluetooth headphones to have that feature

Weird... when listening to music on my Bluetooth headphones or plug in ones my music lowers and plays the notification sound...

Did you ever resolve this issue? I have the same problem with my Sony Xperia U running 2.3.7. I did not have this problem with my Xperia Mini. The symptoms, I think, are the same. You are listening to media through the Music Player through the headphones. A call comes in and the music pauses, but there is no ringtone. Yes, on can surmise it is a call because the music pauses, but it also pauses whenever a text or email comes in too. It takes long enough to fish the phone out while biking, that I sometimes don't have time to wait to see if it is a short pause or a long pause. If you or someone else KNOWS how to fix this, I would love to see a reply. Thanks.

Make sure your ringer isn't on mute, check the sound on the pull down menu
