Unlimited Data is back

Verizon has always been good about letting you keep your plans when they change them. Usually it's just a waiting game for them, people usually change the plans on their own.

Well they screwed udp people adding 20 to bill for no reason
How long did they wait to do that?If Verizon wanted to they could just contact everyone on those plans and tell them they need to choose another plan or find another carrier, unlimited data is being terminated. If you're under contract we are waiving ETF and breaking the contract. Instead they let us keep them.

This new unlimited plan, I don't see them having a issue with them, they have the throttle clause built in they have always wanted, and it doesn't let you run crazy with it.

I had an old corporate olan that cost 11 a month for 7 years and they never said a word and never increased it. It went up only because I went to udp and got a smart phone.

Out of contract on a plan they don't want you to have anymore.
They didn't like my 11 dollar plan either but never went up 20. This is a new behavior for them so you cannot comfort folks saying they will be left alone or grandfathered

That's with any plan and any carrier. The grandfathered unlimited data plans are probably going to continue to get attacked, and you have the heavy heavy users to thank for that. IMO, I think they will eventually terminate the grandfathered unlimited data plans.

Do we even know (officially) tethering and mobile hotspot rules?

First 10 GB per line at 4G LTE speeds, after that tethering is 3G speeds. 3G speeds is an unclear term atm, but worst case scenario is < 1 Mbps. The 10 GB does count towards the 22 GB soft cap that exposes a line to being de-prioritized should they be trying to connect in a congested setting.

People seem to be upset about being throttled like it's a guarantee. It's not a guarantee! Then on top of it, I'm pretty sure they just throttle your 4g speeds, they don't bump you down to 3g. That's only for tethering.

@Almeuit did you figure out if you're switching to this? For me it seems like it would significantly raise my bill.

The gf actually did give me the green light yesterday so now it is just about when can I get to the store.

As Aquila said -- 10 GB tether per line and after 10 GB you get knocked to 3G (on the tether) till the next cycle

???

You're so weird.

Have to do phone trade in for two different lines to get free phones -- otherwise I would do it online. Itguyjax has a good buddy who works for Verizon so he will make it painless :).

Yeah, I'd heard he knows a guy who knows a guy.

The killer is the lack of corporate discounts. I get lots of discounts on my old udp. No discounts (I've read here?) on new udp. I still don't know the dif though. Tried to call to have vzw figure it out for me but busy busy busy.

Correct, only military discount applies to the new UDP
