I'm on the 16 gb plan and each time I have tried to go into verizon my son goes nuts. I've waited for chats but they are always busy and I can't wait all day. When I tried to get information online it went right into changing plans. When I talked for verizon they said I had a pending change to the 4gb plan. It would be nice if they had a quick and easy way to just display the cost and benefit differences

For those wondering what throttling may look like, I happened to be in an area with only 3G coverage (which is apparently what the throttling will drop you to if congested). Admittedly this was also on an extended network, so the results may be a bit off, but I ran several speed tests anyway.

Browsing is noticeably slower, but not really all that bad. The speeds are similar to my 2Mb cable at home, which I can still stream 720p on YouTube with no issues if nothing is else is using data. If that becomes a problem, 480p is fine and is barely noticeable in the loss of resolution.

I'm still not going to get on the unlimited plan simply because it'll cost a fair bit more for pretty much what I'm getting right now with discounts. It's just not justifiable.

I think throttling to 3g is only for tethering after 10gb so yeah that's the speed you'll get for that. For 4g throttling, you'll just experience a slower speed than everyone else so it should be faster than 3g speeds.

So it costs $180 for 3 lines at AT&T and they won't credit the $40 for the forth line till you add it. FK you AT&T. I am switching to Verizon for sure now after 15 years on Saturday.

AT&T is way more expensive and they don't care about the customer obviously. Here is the breakdown.

Third Line, $180,
Fourth Line, $220 till the $40 credit back in 2-3 months starts.

I went to the vzw corporate store and that was the amount she quoted. It is even written on their estimate sheet not just a paper towel or something. Maybe she included the taxes and fees but left off the Asurion?

The paper is at home but it isn't broken down. It was just one number written down for each. She wrote 138 for my current plan (which would include neither taxes and fees nor Asurion) and 173 for new plan. I'm not arguing she is correct but I got it on paper. This was not the direct pay amount so u may already be subtracting that?

The 173 is in 2 months when my wife's plan comes off contract. 193 now with contract (again according to vzw rep not me)

The price breakdown has been stated multiple times in this thread.

Single line: $65 (the account access fee) + $20 (the line access fee) - $5 if you do auto-pay.

Multiple line: $110 (the account access fee) + [$20 X number of lines, minimum 2] - $10 if you do auto-pay.

And for existing customers, + $20 per line on contract.

+ whatever insurance you have per line

+ taxes and regulatory fees.



The math is not hard.
