So I bought a S9+ from BestBuy a few months ago, unlocked. Thought I would not need all that AT&T bloat. wow, such a mistake. Issues with Voicemail, and now I notice I cannot enable any of the enhanced LTE services. I did a search, and see this is known issue, so shame on me. But has anyone figured out a workaround? Root with ATT image? Some tweak to make this work?

Typically when you put whatever carrier sim in and make connection with the network it will automatically download the network software (bloatware). I have the same device I purchased from Samsung directly and I had that capability when I was using the AT&T network for a month or so, I'm currently using Vodafone over in Europe and when I put this sim in it downloaded the networks software. One option I was unable to use on the AT&T network was the Download Booster setting, but everything else worked fine, however I'm able to use it with Vodafone. What I would say is to contact AT&T and get with technical support they may be able to push a firmware update to your phone directly not exactly sure or a hard reset as well.

Unfortunately, if it's not an AT&T IMEI then they won't provision your device with their enhanced features. If anything they might give you HDVoice but that's about it.

you can get the att voice mail app as a apx download. it won't install thru playstore cause it is blocked. once loaded, it works fine and then updates thru playstore.
