Unlocking Samsung Galaxy s5 for use with Walmart Family Mobile. Need help with "Invalid SIM" error.

Okay, so recently my wife's phone which was on a sprint plan was dropped and the phone paid off. I already have an account set up with Walmart Family Mobile, so I am trying to add that phone to the new network.

I called Sprint and Walmart and they both said I should just need an unlock code and to just insert the new SIM card. I have an unlock code from Sprint, but when I put in the walmart family SIM into the s5 it doesn't pop up with a unlock prompt. It also gives an "Invalid SIM" error in the notifications. I know the SIM card is functional.

Any ideas or secret methods to getting this to work? Do I maybe need a special sim card or an app to change some settings?

All you should need is the unlock code. When you put the Walmart SIM in, the phone should ask for it. Unless someone has had the same problem with the CDMA S5 and has solved it, that's about as far as we can go without having the phone in hand.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the exact same problem. The sim is fine but it doesn't prompt for the code.
