Unlocking Verizon Moto X

Hi. I did a quick search, and it appears there are unlock codes available from Motorola for the X - but my carrier (Verizon) is not listed. I sort of thought that since this is a Google phone (mostly, sorta-kinda) it should be easy to unlock. But there aren't any stickies here about unlocking as there are for many other phones. Nor is it widely discussed. While I'm pretty happy with the phone as-is, my curiosity is piqued. Can anyone give me a clue here?

Are you talking about carrier unlock it bootloader unlock? Bootloader unlock for Verizon and AT&T isn't available, but there are Developer Editions available.
