As we know that there's an OTA update coming early next week, is it safe to just keep my phone rooted (through unrevoked) or should I unroot for the update? pls let me know.

No Problem...

For the Record it works with Mobile phones too... I can Tether My Blackberry to the Evo in "No Coverage" Areas for T-Mobile... I love it!!!

I rooted with unrEVOked last night too, but couldn't get any of the ROMs installed..

Kept saying something like 'sd card error or blank', 'abort'

i pretty sure that you can't flash roms with unrevoked but i could be wrong

You need to do unrEVOked 2 for nandroid then u can flash and backup / restore I've been doin it all day today and yesterday

i run unrEVOked, and when i turn on the mobile hotspot, it turns off my mobile connection, i can't get on the internet, any help? i also experience error code 67 sometimes, no clue how to fix these issues.

you can't use "mobile hotspot", you have to use "wireless tether for root users". search for it in the market.

Just ran unrevokedˆ2 went thought flawlessly. Using wireless tether to post this. Nothing like a well honed automaton. lol.
Had to borrow a MacBook to do it, cause it don't work on antiques. lol

Can someone answer this question? I am wondering the same. I found the pages talking about how but I'm not sure if it is needed. Thank you in advance.

i unrooted mine just in case ... but i am not using alot of apps that require root, just the tethering honestly

And using rom is just to modify your phone if u want.

Me either. Hoping for a new undefined method. Haven't ventured into the hardcore root yet.

Any word from the unrEVOked team? I'm holding off on this update until we find out if they will be able to fix this simple root method. I havent had the need or desire to full root yet. But i love using the free wifi tether, and the overclock widget to save standby battery life.
