mind me, as i've not yet Rooted an Evo before.

newer Unrevoked 3 and unrevokedForever

i heard the older versions allowed you to root, stay rooted, but then Reboot the phone and break Root.

this appeals to me the most--

i really just want to root for wireless tethering ability & removing bloatware.
don't care about Themes.

do either of these unrevoked versions allow the above ability of "temporary root"?

any help would be greatly appreciated and "thank"ed

both of those are root. and will stay whether you reboot or not but revolves forever you will not be able to unrooot as you would with revoked 3but beat way to door is by sticky teaches you something

rooting my Sammy-Moment wasn't too bad after about 4 times--just so i had it down pat.

after reading the instructions on unRevoked--i really might as well just do it the old fashioned way.

i have a weird knack for being the exception to "it's really so simple, only a few will mess it up"--i somehow find the way to mess it up.

hmmm...might have to search for some videos just so i know exactly what to expect then.

update: just rooted using unrevoked3. it's ridiculously simple.
yes--it's not hardcore rooting b/c i'm not swapping out files myself--but its definitely easy.
took me about 5 minutes total--after downloading the .exe file and the drivers

Or you can do it like the way in the sticky which is fool proof. Its not botch-able.

if you do a battery pull. then you have to reactivate the program.

quite frankly. i don't really see any reason to run nonrooted phone. you have more program options with a rooted phone so just go all out and load up a rooted software instead of using a rooted program.

Rom manager, CacheMate for root, AdFree, and SetCPU just to name a few. You're right, TiB is worith it's weight in gold for all the things it can do especially if you swap out roms frequently. ShootMe is another cool app for capturing screen shots of your device for the forums but I believe it's avail. for nonrooted devices too now.

Clears the cache from ALL apps with one click! Liberates 5-10mb everytime I run it; maybe even more for some people. Also cleans data, SD card cache, and can be scheduled to automatically do this. There is a paid version with even more features.

And yes, I did purchase the pro version of TiB once I realized the value of this "must-have" app.

i used the unrevoked3--but have yet to perform a battery pull
...not like it'd take me long to re-root the phone...
but i actually like this--as i'm timid of being away from a computer with which i could unroot the phone before taking it to a Sprint shop in the event something happens.

Not true If you used Unrevoke3 a battery pull will not unroot your phone.

kind of wish it did--somewhat--just so i don't have to carry around a flashdrive with the RUU & HTCSense just in case

Well hopefully more people here on AC get into theming. Now that I got my computer back up and running I can finally finish up on it. If you ever have any questions about where certain images are just ask away. I remember where more are but admittedly I'm still searching for some myself lol.
