Unrevoked3 ---> full root via simpleroot. Best method?

I want to get to full nand unlock, preferably using simpleroot or another rooting method. Yes, I've read a massive amount of threads trying to find the best method of doing so. The unroot thread on this forum suggests you can simply run simpleroot on an unrevoked phone (mentioned as a precursor to unrooting), so my question is this...

Is there a consensus method for doing this that gives me the least chance of borking my beloved evo? Opinions, please!

I'm currently running 2.2 netarchy odexed, but I should be able to return to my nandroid backup of 2.1 (6/29) which was originally rooted by unrevoked3, if necessary.

Thanks!

You should root the long way, via flash exploit and adb commands. Thread can be found at xda

I would go with the full root like Lj said.Did you install the original OTA to 2.1?

Yes, I had the rooted OTA from the end of June, which I have a nandroid backup of and can restore if needed. Just a bit daunting to unroot reading the unroot thread. So many problems, unclear of the most successful, pain-free method to unroot...

Yup...do Toast's method part 2...then run RUU, update to 1.47 NOT 3.26!!! Then do as LiquidJesus said. It's a long process, but you're asking for least bork-able way!
