Pretty much my TB is in a state of disrepair, and I need to have it replaced. It's still under warranty, so I can just send it in and they will give me a new one.

The problem is that it's rooted and s-off, and I cannot connect it to a computer or use the touch screen on the phone, as they are not working.

What I CAN do, is use Hboot to flash files.

I've done this so far: How To Unroot the HTC Thunderbolt with One File - TheUnlockrTheUnlockr

Which pretty much is just flashing the stock rom, as far as I can tell. I'm still s-off. Does s-off void the warranty? If so, is there a way I can get s-on without connecting my phone to a computer or using my phone's touch screen?

Well, crap. Maybe they won't notice, lol. Thanks for the reply.

I've gotten the USB to work, but it's set on Charge Only and my computer can't access the files, also the screen is not set to stay on. Your thunderbolt tool won't detect the phone.

There are no files I can run through Hboot to get s-on then? Hboot still works, as the buttons for it are volume and power, not touch.

Sorry for the triple posting, but, I'm thinking I might be able to get your tool to work if I can manage to turn on USB Debugging some how and get it so my screen won't turn off. (Since I flashed the stock rom, the default is to have Debugging off)

Is there anything I can flash to get it like that?

Use s-off but no root in the extras menu, then once that's done go to the boot menu and select recovery, then run unroot.
In recovery mode the unroot function should work fine.

I just got my replacement TBolt yestrday and I was running a CUSTOM ROM. I used this link to UNROOT IT....and then ROOT my new TBOLT....sooooooooooooooooooo simple!. You don't need to touch the screen on your TBolt.

TO be honest....and this is just my opinion...I think that the TBolt is at the end of life cycle...they will probably just scrap the phone...pull off all the good electronic components and scrap the phone. Costs them to much to fix a out of date phone. The refurbs they are sending out now are probably older ones.....again, this is just my opinion.

I would flash the OTA and not worry about the s-OFF....they won't!

Thanks for the reply.

I'd love to use that tool, but unfortunately it won't recognize my Tbolt. There must be a USB problem. It constantly says "Waiting for device connection"

Of course, but USB Debugging and Stay Awake mode are both disabled on the phone, and it's impossible for me to enable them as far as I know...

If you can think of a way to enable those, that would be great

Like I said above, just flash the OTA that came out in Sept. (I have it if you need it) and then send it back. I almost gurantee they won't care.
