Thanks, I should have thought of that. Just done it.She probably has site notifications turned on. That can be helpful, such as a news website that can update you with headlines. The more common use is for what you see here, where sites will use it as a way to spam and scam you. Sites are supposed to ask prior to being able to push notifications to you, but many people just click ok on the notices without reading or understanding them.
I don't use Chrome, but there should be a section in the settings for site settings. There you should be able to find a blanket option to turn those off.

I'll have a look at that tomorrow.You can also open Chrome, tap the 3-dot menu button at the upper right, then Settings>Site Settings>Notifications, and look for those particular sites that are giving notifications. Select them, then turn the toggle for notifications off for that particular site. This is if you actually do want to get legit notifications from other sites (rather than turning off all site notifications).
