Update 5.9.901?

LOL! Did not know that... Guess I can quit checking for the update then, eh?

Thank you!

Yup no need to look for it. Oddly though there are reports of people who talk to vzw getting this pushed to their phone still. I'm not sure how that works but it isn't happening automatically. They seem to be initiating a push for people who are having issues. So I think 901 seems fairly safe to install. Especially now that we have a way back to 5.5.893 if we need it. So if you really want it you could install it manually.

I'm considering doing just that. the phone seems stable and don't want to jinx it (knowing my luck whatever reason it was pulled would effect me) but if I start to have any issues I will flash it manually. Downloaded the file to my computer the other night.

I may when I get the new phone. We shall see.

886 at the very moment. Just doing a backup now that I've done an update on my stock 886 rooted image from November. Once it's done I'll boot back in and let it do an OTA to 893. I'll do yet another nandroid and then decide whether I wanna chance 901. Probably. :D

I am sure most of you are having terrible data issues since the 893 update. If not does anyone have any suggestions on how I can correct this issue. Thanks

For the ver 5.9.901 Update, I'd like to see screenshots of Settings>About phone>Status with comments of:

Got it pushed to me OR Manually installed it,

I'm in a strong 4G area (no/few data drops) OR I'm in a marginal 4G area (lots of drops) OR 3G only area,

If you have screenshots of Speedtests before and after 5.9.901, that'd be great.

I got the first OTA to 5.5.893 and my Bionic is bone stock...waiting patiently...not really! :D

My Results of Speedtests from mid-Sept: and my Status screenshot.

Well I don't have any screen captures for you, but I can honestly say installing the 901 update has made a big difference, at least to me it has. I manually installed as it was already yanked back by Motorola when I got this phone (see my earlier post in this thread). Went from 886 to 5.893 OTA then installed 9.901 myself. I am in a fairly strong 4GLTE area, it sure seems like the connection is stronger and faster. I can tell you I ran a speed test awhile ago, and I cracked the 20mb download barrier for the first time. Actually I never cracked 16mb before now. As I said before I am thoroughly pleased I installed it. As of this moment I'm okay with stock and no root. I could do without the bloatware of course, but so be it....

Download it, put it on your sdcard, boot into stock recovery, and flash it.

Im trying to move the file to the root menu on my sd card, but I keep getting an error not letting me move it. I am not rooted

No need to be rooted. Make sure it's the SD-EXT not the internal one. I just plugged in my phone and copied it to the second mounted partition. For those wondering, I am all good with my phone now. Rooted 901. LOVE IT!

Also make sure ur copying it not just moving it if u downloaded it directly to your phone

That was the problem; I was trying to move it. Thanks!
