Update coming to HTC EVO 4G LTE

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Spent all night trying to update with the ruu link. No go. Running the ruu on a Windows 7 machine would not do anything. On the windows 8 it would hang at the bootloader then say connection error. I've tried all suggestions here regarding how to troubleshoot, but none work. Any suggestions?

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

I've never had a problem with Visual Voicemail on Android 4.2/Sense 4. Or do you mean there was an issue with Visual Voicemail on Android 4.3/Sense 5?

I have not run the update yet I do not have access to it. My problem on stock rom 4.1.1 there is an issue with Sprints Visual Voicemail and using Hangouts as your default text reader where Hangouts intercepts the hidden text message that notifies VVM that there is a message and you receive a text similar to this //ANDROID:4045551212 has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call 408-970-0000 to listen. MMSN, caad4336db7b,2505,V68RmYz2AsQ//CM. You cannot call the number listed. You have to long press 1 on your keypad then enter your access code to listen to your vmail. Currently the only way to get Sprint VVM back is to disable Hangouts then you have to send your self a Voice mail.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

seems to me that my computer does not recognize the phone in bootloader mode. I keep getting the missing driver message when it goes to bootloader. Under normal plug in, it recognizes it just fine.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

One thing I notice after updating last night. When I connect to the computer as a disk drive after the update my wallpaper changes and many of my apps crash. After I disconnect and reboot I still have lost my wallpaper.

HTC Care team: Contact Us - EMAIL SUPPORT
There is also a phone number to call them

I had no trouble at all when I installed the first RUU a week ago. When I first attempted to install the 'final' RUU I was getting an ERROR 170, USB Connection Error. I finally noticed a dialog on the phone asking for permission to use USB Debugging mode. Selecting that fixed the issue.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Well, I got to work and used my Win 7 pro. And installed HTC sync etc. I saw a new type of driver being installed when I plugged the phone (forget the name now). Once that happened, the update went through well. Testing now. I guess try different computers until one works??

I ended up using the Windows 7 machine and had to open up the device manager and update the driver. When it was finally correct it said MY HTC. It took a few tries, but finally worked. I don't have any issues that I know of yet, but I haven't been in roaming yet. Phone connects normally to my computer for file sharing still.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

how's the new radios for you. I'm getting less bars in my office (usually full). I know bars don't mean squat in reality, but just wondering

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

HELP. I have htc sync downloaded, when i run the exe file the install wizard comes up the blue bar loads and then nothing happens. the wizard closes and nothing else pops up. what am i doing wrong? ive never rooted my phone either

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Bars are showing data strength now, not voice signal strength.
Very interesting. I noticed that when a call came in the bars immediately changed to full bars. Probably changed to voice bars when phone calls are active. very cool

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

It took me 4 tries to go through everything. The first 3 said my USB wasn't connected correctly. On the 3rd round it started to make progress and then said the same thing, leaving the HTC logo on my phone. I tried the 4th time and it finally went through. It stalled out for about 5 minutes on the 4th try and I was getting nervous but it finally pushed through.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

I've run the exe file as adminstrator, and Im on windows 8 but im using usb 3.0. do yu think that is why the exe file doesnt execute properly?

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

So I was running the RUU on a W7 machine - no problem, it was all seemed to be running OK. The RUU said it was sending info to the phone. Then the phone was stuck on the HTC logo screen (black background) for over two hours. So I disconnected the phone (it stayed on the HTC screen), and held the power button to reset it. The phone turns on, but won't go past the green HTC logo on the white background. Connecting it to the computer does nothing - the computer doesn't detect it. Is this totally bricked? Any help?

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Hold the power and the volume up together at the same time... See if that helps.

Nope. I've done power + volume up and power+ volume down. Nothing happens with either until I release the buttons (and I tried holding them for a long time), and then it just restarts back to the white flash screen. I think things are bricked...

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Anybody have the stock browser open up every time they unlock their phone, after the update?

Nevermind, I'm an ***** :p
