UPDATE: Wirefly WAS Selling Evo 3D for $179... NOW $149 (WTF)

you can buy any phone you want, activate the phone. you can not cancel your contract for 6 months, if you do that you get hit with ETF. As long as you keep your line active for 6 months you are good. You can buy another phone and put it on the line or change plan or features, just keep the number active for 6 months. Atleast that is the case when I asked amazon wireless, it should be similar to wirefly.

ok, so it's not the phone, but rather the number?

i definitely keeping the number with sprint, but i could see getting a nexus 3 if ice cream comes out, and i dont want to be locked into something with wirefly. being locked in with sprint is enuf for me.

I saw someone asked about their corporate discount and being concerned about losing it if they renew through Wirefly. I have the identical concern as I have a 25% corporate discount and if I lose it I won't be pleased. Anyone have any insight into this?

All the extra added on discount programs are through Sprint ... Once you are activated you can set up the corporate discounts and any other discount program with Sprint Customer Service.

So what you're saying is that my discount would be stripped and I would then need to have Sprint reapply it?

Back up to $179 :(

I missed out..

Just follow the link on this post:

Don't expect to get it on launch date if you pre order form Amazon or Wirefly

Wirefly stated from an online chat that they will get them and start shipping on the 26th....so the earliest you could get the phone is the 27th if you pay for 1 day shipping.

Amazon states that the estimated delivery time is July 1st with the free 2 day shipping

So don't be upset if you are expecting to get it on the 24th and order from Amazon or wirefly. If you must have it on launch go pre order at a local store like most people have already done.

EDIT- Also if anyone is interested here is the friends/family link for the Evo 3d preorder from wirefly. It only charges you 149.99, but only with this link HTC EVO 3D for Sprint - Wirefly Friends and Family Store

When you upgrade your phone that is all your doing ... Upgrading the phone ... Your account will remain intact and untouched unless you change the mins or start adding or deleting services ... Other than that everything on your account will remain the same other than you will have the Evo 3D in replace of your previous device .

Correct you must keep the line active for atleast 6 months. Thats how all the third party sellers do it, they dont get any credit from sprint if you cancel or port your number out with in 6 months. So if you keep the number active no matter what you do with your plan or phone, you dont get any ETF as long as you keep the number. Amazon wireless rep explained it pretty well to me, almost all third party seller have the same terms from sprint other than best buy.

I understand that. But it appears that Wirefly is asking you to pick a plan to renew. It appears that you hae to actually pick the renewed plan and add it to your cart. That why I ask the question about losing the discount.

EDIT: Looks like because I have one of the "updated/newer" SERO plans (forget what they were called after SERO) it needs me to pick a plan because it says "Not applicable with SERO plans". Interesting.

Did you actually call to talk to wirefly.com customer service

Now its $149.99, thats crazy! It's making me thinking about getting it through them. With the BOA Additup $50, the phone comes out to be $100..

How do you get the $149.99 price through BOA Additup site? It is showing up at $179.99 for me.

If you go to my original post at the beginning of this thread you will find the link to the wirefly.com $149.00 price. Bank of America "Add it up" is a total different program through BofA and not affiliated with any other retailers price.

After hours of research, this $149 price pushed me over the edge. My 8530 BB is getting long in the tooth, and while there are things I will definitely miss about BB, the good (I hope) outweighs the bad with this EVO3D.

Pre-order placed.

This deal is one of the best, most straight forward deals so far.

First, thank you for the BOA tip. I had no prior knowledge of that program. Second, how did you get the $149.99 price and the Additup $50? When I go through the BOa site, which it says you have to do in order to receive the cash back, I am only offered the $179 price.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

In order to participate through the BofA Add it up program, you have to order through their links ... So you either get the phone at $179 then get your BofA credit or you order straight from wirefly.com and get it for $149 ... you can't get both.

Thanks for the quick response!

I ordered through bofa additup and then emailed them asking if they can price match the lower price. Still waiting for a response.

I would REALLY like to know what their response is, if you don't mind sharing.

Thanks!

I couldn't possibly see why they would not be able to lower the price for 3 reasons 1) wirefly.com changed their price from $179 to $149 within a week of each other and Bank of America just didn't update their link ... 2) This program is to benefit Bank of America's customers so why not offer them the BEST deal that is available ... 3) It costs Bank of America nothing to give you the lower price if it is available ... Regardless of what wirefly.com sells it for $179 or $149, BofA is still only out $50.
