Upgrade Available but VZW online chat says I can't

Hi there,

Hubby has a dumb phone on our account that's been out of contract for prolly 18-24 months. Three devices display on this page. His dumb phone w/the upgrade transfer, my Note Edge (shows upgrade available but that would be early I'm sure) and my Gear S (upgrade at retail price).

This says to me I should be able to transfer the upgrade to my Gear S but their online chat says I can't. What's up with that?

You should be able to transfer it yourself on the website; if that doesn't work then they probably can't do it either.

Alternate upgrades (transfer upgrade) are only like device for like. For example you couldn't transfer a tablet line's upgrade to a phone line to upgrades the phone.
