Upgrading to Note 5 from the Note 4?

Seems like a Micro sd may be included according to the recent rumors. But no removable battery. Deal breaker? I upgrade once a year seems like the biggest changes are less bezel, faster newly integrated CPU, new USB type C connection, 4gb of ram possible, better camera with OIS, front camera 5mp, curved backside, bigger battery 4100 mah. Enough for those of you with the Note 4 to upgrade?

No. The battery is close to being the deal breaker. And if there's also no SD card slot, that's definitely a broken deal.

4GB? Not enough of a change to warrant anything if you're really into multitasking. 6, maybe.

Nope. Just got my Note 4 (upgraded from Note 2) last week partly *because* of the non-removable battery in the Note 5. Absolute deal breaker for me. The battery is the weakest point in any mobile device and to make it non-removable is absurd, IMO.

If it's worth the upgrade then I will. Losing a removable battery and expandable storage won't be a deal breaker. I'll miss the expandable storage but I'll deal.

Having a removable battery is great - I don't need to do it often, and I have to remember to bring a spare with me, but for the few times when I need it, it's great - tough, but not a deal breaker.

Frankly, I'm glad they're getting rid of the SD card (if they do - it's still not confirmed). But, the Note 5 supposedly comes in 32gb, 64gb and 128gb versions - that's enough for anyone. Given all the problems that people have with SD cards (just peruse the posts on this forum), it's probably a good thing!

Absolutely. I tried the s6e and liked it except for the smaller display. The edge was kinda cool but pretty pointless for my uses.

With the leaked (and unleaked) info that's coming out, I may reconsider my decision not to upgrade to the Note 5. If the battery is, indeed, 4100mAh, and will last throughout the business day (at least 12 hours) of moderately heavy use, and it includes a microSD slot, I will probably go for it. A base memory of 64GB would be a plus; a 128GB variant would definitely work. However, I'm still not happy about a glass back.

4GB would be a 25% upgrade in memory. My Note 4 is frequently using up a lot of the ram (most of it from the Touch wiz) and that extra gig would make it so 20 chrome tabs wouldn't slow it down at all.

This is the first time I may not upgrade the Note series.
The only reason I may upgrade is cause of the finger print scanner will be similar to the S6s'
but this alone is not enough for me to upgrade.

I think we're all forgetting one thing which pulled people towards samsung this year.

The toned down version of touchwiz.

The note 4 is a near perfect phone. If there's anything, it's the software. And with the new touchwiz having no to less bloatware plus the extensive themes engine built in. The note will be finally able to fly like it's supposed to.

For me, the glass back would be a deal breaker. Other than that, I think the note 5 would be absolutely amazing!

4gb is a 33.3% increase over the note 4's 3gb

A.) What's up with the "Glass Back"? I hadn't seen that anywhere...

B.) I have been agreeing with all of you as I read through the posts, regarding a non-removable battery being a "deal breaker". It seems stupid to make it non-removable - but then I realized that for the four years prior to my Note 4, I easily survived with 1st, my Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and then my Motorola Droid Maxx. I never once felt or had the need to pull the battery and "nearly" always got through my work day on a single charge. Now I'm not sure that a non-removable (4100 mAh) battery would really be a problem for me.

The glass back is something I don't want. Fingerprints, something to crack and weight. My Note 4 with a very thin case is heavier than my Note 3. It isn't too bad unless it has been a long day if work on my phone and then it makes my hands ache.

A glass back is not something I want at all as I have to pull the case off sometimes when using my Note 4.

As a longtime Samsung buyer, (Samsung Droid Charge, Galaxy S3 then S4) I don't understand where they're headed. I still believe the Galaxy S3 and the S4 are some of the best phones every made. But the S6 was a no-go for me. No removable battery, no memory card, the high cost of 64 and 128 gig versions, and a glass back??? I don't want an iPhone......I like Samsungs. (or at least what they used to be).

So, I really liked the Note4, almost bought one about a month ago, but didn't want to end up with 'last year's model'. In the mean time I didn't like what I was hearing about the Note5, got tired of waiting and upgraded from my Galaxy S4 to the LG G4. I know its not a direct competitor to the S4, but for me the 5.5 inch screen, 3 gigs ram, a killer price from Bestbuy and free accessories from LG was bait enough. So I made the switch. I do have a slight guilty feeling for leaving Samsung after so many years but I'm really enjoying the G4. Especially the QuickCircle window case. So, for me, I think I made the right decision. Not sure how all this is going to play out for Samsung, but there're big boys, so.......

Nope. I'm tired of Samsung. My third Samsung device in a row and well.... I always preferred HTC anyhow, just they can't seem to get their shizzle together. Unless HTC comes up with something big and amazing or Sony really breaks out, I'll probably start eying Windows Phone or maybe take a walk on the dark side and try an iPhone.

I enjoy my Note 4, but there are a couple really annoying things about it that I live with. I think with the Note 5, they are doing away with what really made them stand out and at this point, I may as well ditch them and try something new that has a nicer interface.
