Yeah, I thought the same thing, but someone will end up buying it, then find out about the recall and demand their money back and you will have to give them their money back. I thought about keeping mine but if the part that is problematic and it fails, well after they stop taking returns, you are kind of screwed.
I'm at the point I wish I hadn't returned my watch... I just don't like the S2 very much compared. I was totally loving the LG U2 LTE
I'm keeping mine. I hope LG would allows us to keep it and just let us swap it out with the re-released version.
Nah they can demand their money back all day but after the 14days is up I don't have to give them anything so they'll just be SOL I do this daily with phones they randomly go bad 2 months after they're purchased.

I was talking about the dude that said he was gonna try and sell it on eBay. You know how crazy eBay buyers are.
The LTE came in really handy yesterday at Universal Studios Orlando/Islands of Andventure. We can't take our phones with us on the Dragon Challenge Rollercoaster and we had to put all our belongings in a locker. We stood in line for 30 minutes but wanted to keep track of some football games from notifications. The watch worked perfectly. I continued to get notifications! From the verbiage of LG's statement, I don't think the part they are referring to will fail. I think the function they are referring to just didn't meet their strict testing for everyday use. This could be a function that works fine for us but the tests LG performs may have been a test we would not perform on a day in day out basis. I've been getting a lot of compliments at my workplace for my watch and coworkers telling me they want one. I tell them this is now a limited edition watch that cannot be purchased any longer. lol I don't think AT&T will shut the service off on this watch because they would be losing money from me on a monthly basis.
According to LG's statement, it's not a health hazard. That's great, but don't be upset when you lose a hand or something and can't sue due to the recall. JK I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but it must be a serious hardware issue or hazard.

This watch's hi-res screen is claimed to be the highest of its kind on watches. So, it fits the description of LG claims that an advanced component never used before on wearables. So, assume it is the screen that doesn't last long enough. And there is no replacement possible support the same resolution (maybe Samsung could have some but LG will never source the component from Samsung). That explains the reason why LG can't give out any ETA of re-launch or even possibility of re-launch. If they can't get this screen fixed, there will be no Urbane 2.
BTW, this is not LG's first LTE watch. Original Urbane has a LTE version released only in Korea running WebOS. So, LTE is not the problem.
If my speculation is right, I have now turned off Always On watch faces to prolong the screen life as much as possible.
All they said was "The hardware issue was related to a new advanced component that we had incorporated in the device that had never been used in an LG wearable device before."
At this point we don't know what that could be.....this is subjective information. We don't have any evidence it is screen related. For all we know it could chip related, or even a flaw in the antenna in the band, which could also fit the description of LG claims.
