US release date could be July 12th!

I'm calm, getting ready for bed...

Here's hoping Thrusday will hold great news for everyone with a pre-order.

Hope we all get them by Friday or Monday at the Latest.

Being an employee of Gamestop and dealing with preorders on a weekly basis, aside from being a tablet this isn't terribly different than any game launch. You can preorder online, or you can preorder from B&M stores. Going with a physical store you can walk in at open of business and pick up your device. If you order online you're at the mercy of UPS or whatever shipper the company is using. But again, some jerk can go to Wal-Mart at 12:01am release night without any prior investment and pick it up before all of us.

I've done both, and prefer to do so in stores. I chose Gamestop mainly for the trade in program. I was able to trade in my old iPod touch and get out of the iOS game completely now, and with the trade bonuses we've been doing I'm left with under $10 out of pocket. Plus, I'm not jumping up to look out my window every time a loud vehicle drives down the road.

Then again, I was able to hold my Nexus 7 in my hands today but couldn't do anything about it, so that really sucks. They're really emphasizing that we SHOULD NOT sell them before Google gives the okay. On the in-store website there's huge lettering stating you can't sell it, and just for fun I tried to ring it up and this caps lock heavy message pops up stating that this is still in pre-release status and asks if you're really sure you want to sell it.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!

I must agree that is a very sacrilege thing to say. Can't you see people all over the world have devoted every single hour of their day to found out when they can touch the Holy nexus 7.

Look the tablet is blessed by the holy number 7.So there for it's a blessing.

Since you work at gamestop couldn't you just take your nexus 7 home today. psh I would an act like nothing every happen. Not tell a single person beside the boss.

I kinda agree with the fact that nobody here is better than the other and your money isnt more valuable than mine. I am not sure where this is coming from but why would the retailers have to wait until everyone gets their n7 who ordered from the play store? I need a link from google or official confirmation.

If you order online you always risk being a day or 2 late on receiving an item on launch. Just relax and you will get yours soon. Hell i just built a gaming desktop and ordered all the parts online. I could have taken a 45 minute trip to the micro center store and saved myself a few weeks of ordering. I just had to wait a little longer to build it and i knew that going it.

They're being super anal about us not breaking street date. They have to scan them in inventory counts at least once a day and they've mandated that they be locked up in the back room. They've made a big deal about Google choosing us to do their preorders in physical stores over anyone else, so they want to make sure that everything goes right.

Plus, the District Manager is based out of my store, so he sits in the back room all day. I have no chance.

go Play some Dark Meadows or dead trigger. It'll calm you down. I had to do It so I wasn't upset. :)

sorry was intended for future_nobody. p.s. @future_nobody I'm not trying to be mean. just trying to help.

Well then I say that just sucks ,but I can understand gamestop doesn't want to tick off google.Hopefully soon we all can get our nexus 7.

they have an hdmi adapter and controller and gamestop that might be compatible with Nexus 7. I bought my hdmi cable two years ago and it broke. I could ask my bro if I could borrow his sony Bravia cable. It's a lot more durable.

This will probably be my best and first 19th Birthday. Thanks to my parents I only have to pay 181.40 and I still get the 16 gb.

Good night. I have to go help my friend's granparent's move. Hopefully that will take my mind off of this.

I had to make an account just to clear some stuff up that happened on my end.

I pre-ordered my Nexus 7 on the 9th and literally got charged instantly as soon as I hit the accept button. If anyone is curious to which bank I have, it is Bank of America, (Not entirely sure if that has anything to do with being charged right away) but hopefully all these "rumors" hold true for today. Will keep you all updated if anything changes in my Google Wallet account!

While searching around, trying to figure out why the release date at Office Depot had changed from July 12 to "delayed until further notice", I came across an article reporting yet another patent lawsuit filed on the July 10, regarding the mobile Chrome browser. The lawsuit requests "a preliminary and permanent injunction against Google from distributing its Chrome Mobile Browser in the Unites States". In other words, asking the court to ban Google from distributing the browser before the case even gets started. Since the default browser on the Nexus 7 is Chrome, I would assume that it's included in the injunction. This is all speculation on my part, but perhaps they CAN'T provide them to customers until they remove Chrome or resolve the lawsiut. Again, this is just me speculating. *sigh*
