US release date could be July 12th!

Ok this is different... I ordered on the 29th, and just right now I get some new progress on my credit card statement. I see an order from Google, for the exact amount I paid for the tablet ($285.12), but right next to it, it also says ROVIO (as in the Angry Birds developer) and it is counted as being credited, not charged, to my account. So strange.

Interesting. Mine was originally Google if I recall correctly. Then later said comixOlogy (or whatever it is). Now it isn't even there at all.

This is a screenshot of my pending transactions from my online statement. The parenthesis means "credit," not charge. And my remaining balance is actually higher than my limit because of it lol.

Well, the pending charge finally dropped from my AMEX, man they take forever.

Really wish Google would release a statement about when they're actually going to ship!

I've heard the reason Google isn't announcing a set in stone shipping date is because of the reputation of android devices being delayed. It sure would ease my nerves with an actual date though. (also stupid vacation planning on my part as well :-\ )
So can we reasonably say that people who ordered before June 30th will get their devices before Wednesday July 18?

Well there were now three dates thrown about...the 12th, which would be there by then, the 17th, which probably wouldn't be there by then, and the 19th, which definitely wouldn't.

I hope I don't get penalized for jumping the gun. I preordered in that 20 min span that it was available but not announced lol

Google has said they will honor the orders placed when they prematurely opened the site.

Shipping on the 12th is what I'm hoping for.
Where did you find the data about the 17th?
And shipping on the 19th is for UK customers. (I think)

Just in the hubbub of frantic Googling since I placed my order.

No doubt they'll honor it, I just hope I don't get punished by a delayed shipping date :).

If the date is the 12th, it would be really nice if that is the day they showed up rather than the day they shipped. But..... they will show up when they show up.

I just called customer service. He said he predicts the tabs will arrive in 2 weeks. (Let's hope that isn't true) However, when I asked him about switching to the 16gb version, he said it was too late to change the order. <<< What does that tell us? Not much... But maybe they are already being prepped for shipping :D

One thing we've all learned over time is that a customer rep of anything (be it carrier, manufacturer, etc.) is absolutely clueless about when the device will get released. One rep is saying next week, another two weeks, then you have staples saying it could be this week OR next week... it's just all too much guessing. I will be convinced when:

a) Google announces the actual date of shipment.
b) I get a shipping notification via email.

That said, I really do hope they ship out this coming week.

I think I like it better when they just announce when it will come. I understand why Google isn't doing that, but I am just not damn patient enough!

No but really, I'm now checking if they charged my credit card twice a day!

Staples Pre-Order

Pre-order your Nexus 7 by July 10th, 2012 to reserve one of these limited quantity tablets. Product will ship between July 12th and July 17th. Expected delivery: 1 - 3 business days, arriving no earlier than July 13th 2012. Your credit card will be charged at shipment.

Looks like at least us in the USA will be receiving ours next week or early the week after.

Unfortunately, if you go another step further add it to your cart and go to checkout the expected arrival date is August 22nd. That caught me off guard with the other dates plastered all over their site.

I just pre ordered a Nexus 7 tablet from Gamestop yesterday and was told it would be in a 2nd wave of shipments due on August 7th. So, I would imagine after that date might be when you could pick one up from a retail store.
