I got a call from a California number today. I dont know anyone from California. Scared the life outta me. Thought it had shipped or been cancelled. They need to ship already. I'm too jumpy. My boss said I have a phone call, I asked if it was Google. -_-

Well, Staples has given a definite time frame. When I called them, it turned out the units they allow us to preorder are shipping from the same place the Google Play preorders are. So I say expect very similar shipping dates. I think we can just assume July 12th they will start for now.

Hi everyone.

I ordered on July 2nd and still no changes. I try not to be constantly checking but it's hard not to. My credit card is still showing the charges as pending and Google Wallet is the same.

When you register your Nexus 7, Google adds the play store credit to the google account you used when setting up the device

Agreed, someone will stumble across something in this group first. Then the AC blog will pick it up, and then the rest of the blogs. But someone here is going to get a shipment notification and after they clean up themselves, will post here!

from what i've read it gets added to your google play account when you turn on and activate your Nexus 7

You have to admit.... following threads like this one and waiting/scouring the web for info on a new release is about half the fun of the new device. In a few months, many of us will be right back here doing the same thing for another release.

You're right about that. To tell you the truth, I'm not quick to buy gadgets as soon as they are released or announced. However, the Nexus 7 really promises to be a great device. I received an Amazon Kindle Fire as a gift (1 day before the Nexus 7 was announced) and well, you can guess I sent that baby back and pre-ordered the Nexus right away.

Good to know.. Though I do hope you are wrong, and that the people who directly pre-ordered off the play store gets them first, and that its first come first serve. Because I had mine in at 2pm on the 27th
