That's just messed up. I'll bet Google won't even start shipping to customers until the 12th.....If we're lucky. Kinda dumb that if you buy it from the source you get it later than if you went to a third party retail store.

Since it is now noon Wednesday, I assume you mean LAST Wednesday (the 4th?). If it's in a box waiting to be shipped, I wonder what the freakin' holdup is?

They probably want to ship as many as possible at the same as....possible. They must be anticipating some kind of outcry from buyers if some people get theirs too far in advance of others who ordered close to the same time. Of course, this would not be an issue if you people would stop comparing notes and evidence in these forums. If it weren't for Facebook, Twitter and these forums, they could ship them in whatever order they wanted and none of us would be the wiser. You guys are wrecking everything!

I also hear some of you have been had your credit card charged and some of you "kinda" had your cards charged, etc. I'll bet some of Google's associates' credentials were not in order, causing some of their attempted credit card charges for such a large amount to be rejected(AMEX seems like they might be kind of snooty that way), causing items to be boxed for shipping in some other order than pre-order date. I have certainly been charged for my tablet, so I suppose it's sitting on a pallet in some warehouse, collecting dust because little Timmy needs to get his first.

My point is: it's not Timothy's fault you can't charge his credit card properly. Ship him his tablet so I can get mine and worry about collecting his payment later! :'(

Last time I order from Google, it was a GNex, and it was promised 2 day when I ordered it, but it came in one day. The GNex was fulfilled by UPS from their Louisville air hub, and I fully expect the N7 to do the same. That means it could ship tonight or tomorrow and still arrive on 7/12. dont think I would worry.

Same here. More then likely the shipping will take only 1 day. Anything that I order with amazon prime 2 day shipping if it ships from Kentucky's hub it will come next day. So Google will ship the tablets from hubs that are nearest your house.

I pass nearly 3 different Gamestops regularly. I ordered from Google Play on the 27th right after I/O announced it. It would be a bummer to pay shipping AND get it later if folks can walk in the 12th. I'm supposed to leave town for vacation Thursday so I'm extra anxious. UPS tosses things on my porch where there is no cover. Had a package ruined this week b/c it sat in the rain. I was home & they don't ring the bell. Ugh.
Throw in that someone tried to break into my house 2 weeks ago & I'm not thrilled with it sitting on my porch for days. (And let's not forget the 100 degree weather) I sure wish Google would give any info so I can quit worrying about it.:-\

I emailed them to ask about it, but I'm expecting a generic response. I'll post whatever I get here.

Well, either Staples, Gamestop, and Office Depot are all full of crap (which is entirely possible, but not likely), or those of us who preordered directly from the source are getting screwed. The people who ordered directly from Google, as soon as these things were announced, are likely the most hardcore Android fans. I wouldn't think Google would want to alienate that particular group, as they're Google's most ardent supporters, but it's beginning to look like that's precisely what's going on. Dunno.

Yea the "rumors" are starting to look pretty darn consistent right about now.

Yes they are, although I ordered through google and all i've been seeing are rumors about retail stores. But if the rumors say the 12th, then the 12th it probably is. I mean the "rumors" were right about the specs of the tablet long before it came out werent they?

What I would like to know is if the tablets from Google will ship on the 12th or be at our house on the 12th?
