Take this for what it's worth. But I called Gamestop tonight where I have it pre ordered and asked when the pre orders would be released. I was told tomorrow. I haven't received a text saying that I would be able to pick it up. So again...take it for what it's worth. If it does come out tomorrow. Woot.

Google report told me that it was his understanding that retailers can not release until after Google's first shipment is out.... That said, if you ordered on the 6th like I did you may not be in the first shipment and they may be in stores before you get it :-( tempted to call support again for more info..... It's only 10:30 lol

Assuming the rumors that this tablet will be on retail shelves tomorrow (seems to be a lot of talk that it might), then I'm a tad disappointed with Google for not shipping these on Tuesday or Wednesday, so those of us that preordered directly from Google should get the tablet in our hands the same day it's available at retail stores. That's usually how it works.
Google/ASUS already aren't making much if anything off the tablet. If we are ordering it directly from Google, at least that cuts out the retailers and it is a little bit more money for Google/ASUS. Seems we should be slightly rewarded for that, not slightly punished.
And having to wait all weekend long while it sits in some UPS warehouse... :'(

If your local GS will release it to you tomorrow, power to you. In my district its like a witch hunt for anyone even considering it.
Our DM has called every day to make sure the managers on duty know not to sell it. Corporate is taking this pretty seriously, I've never seen them this anal about street date. My guess is if GS messes this up, Google will be less inclined to work with them.

I am just curious if its the day it ships out then an lot of people should be getting them my tomorrow at the earliest right ? i have mine preordered at gamestop , i can wait till preorder people get theirs first. As long as everbody gets there nexus 7 within an reasonable time frame its all good
Oh well I thought as long as google sent out their shipment to customers first it would be ok for retailers to start selling I guess thats not the case.
From what I've read around the web Google won't release the brick and mortar stock until the preorders arrive. I'm guessing the preorders arrive Friday or Saturday, with a brick and mortar release on Saturday.

It definitely is an 1st world problem, I kind of feel bad how much i lust over an gadget , when there are other people out there have to worry about much more important things like food...

Crap...don't even have any in my state! I've never checked my credit/debit card balance more than I have in the last 6 days. Here is to hoping some, even if not all of us, have it by the weekend!
exactly. This isnt like a package from a person to a person. These things are probably sitting in every hub(where the trucks go back to at night) waiting for the go to ship. Just because its 2 day doesn't mean much if the persons house is within driving distance of the hub. This is a very common practice with fedex/ups.
Just to get people thinking. How many people think some units will get sold tomorrow by accident (or purposely). I think its entirely possible that this will happen.
No offense to anyone, but I have seen some rather stupid GS employees. There are also many people who simply, don't give a crap about their jobs.

Well it's already the 12th of July here. Where's my N7 Google? I see mine ships from Singapore via 2 day shipping. That means at best it's not here until Monday. Not as cool as Apple, that's for sure.
If history is any indication, GS might start selling if another retailer jumps the shark. It happens fairly often, admittedly with smaller titles, but Wal-Mart is the biggest violater of street dates.
When they do, the other retailers will usually start selling in order to avoid losing out on sales. If Wal-Mart is selling something I want, Gamestop be damned, I'm going over there.
Not sure if that will happen...the N7 is a really big deal. Here's hoping!

Why? They pre ordered just like you did. Every store is getting the amount of pre orders, no extra.

I've been reading the boards the past couple of days. I'm new around these parts and had never pre-ordered a device before. I was feeling as I may be going insane or at the very least had become a bit obsessive about this. Thanks to this thread I know, it's "normal" and I'll be alright.
I look forward to being on the boards with all of you on our Nexus 7's and asking plenty of rooting questions for my Ice Cream Sandwichless EVO 3D in the near future.
