First off, this shipping cost petition is literally the most idiotic, self-indulgent thing I've seen on the internet. Seriously? You chose Play Store as your vendor, chose to pay the shipping cost, and knew in advance the vague 2-3 week timeline (which we are still well within). Get. Over. It.

Second off, I just received my shipping email from Google. I ordered an 8gb on the night of June 29th. The interesting thing is that the UPS tracking info says the label was created on 7/9/12 (and that is ALL the information available right now), which makes me think there must have been a delay involved. The labels are usually created the day of shipping, so methinks perhaps they intended to ship on 7/9 or 7/10, but logistics got in the way.

The two UPS tracking numbers I posted earlier in this thread were both created on 7/12 and have estimated delivery dates on Monday. Mine doesn't list an estimated delivery date, unfortunately, but I can't imagine it will be later than Monday. I believe the previous ones I posted are real now, since the weight matches mine.

Except pre-orders are supposed to actually be shipped so arrival coincides with or earlier than in-store releases, making the entire point of preordering AND paying shipping costs completely pointless.

I have to admit I am a little disappointed, but its nothing to cry about. I think everyone at least needs to wait and see who is at fault here. Certainly Google could have better communicated. I think GameStop may be the ultimate culprit here though.

Either way, I doubt that people will remember this 2 weeks from now.

Hmm. Ok, since I ordered on the 6th, haven't been charged, and haven't received any emails, I think it's safe to assume my 16gb is gonna be shipped after the "first wave". The Nice pre-recorded British man on the Nexus Support line message says it will occur during the next 3 business days. So, What constitutes a 'business day' to Google?

Is there a chance it could ship tomorrow or is it going to be Monday at the earliest? Here is hoping they work on Saturdays!

I preordered so I could receive one in 2-3 weeks. I'm receiving one in 2-3 weeks.

If I recall correctly, there wasn't even information available about preorders from other vendors or in-store releases at the time I ordered. If that mattered to me, I would have waited to find out.

When other people receive their tablets is irrelevant to me. People may have ordered from Google expecting to be at the front of the line, just as people whipped themselves up into a frenzy expecting a July 12th shipment date, and are now convincing themselves there should be a shipping refund or extra perks. They created their own expectations, which were then disappointed.

Could Google have forestalled this with better communication? Sure. But it's not up to Google to tell people not to concoct expectations out of thin air. 2-3 weeks is what they were told. 2-3 weeks is what they're getting. If that's disappointing, well at least now they know not to order from Google Play anymore.

True but now because of what google did they will have alot of refusals and another headache on their hands. Most will just start buying them from stores and sending the play store order back just as i will if i don't get my tracking today. They should have just sent them out instead of collecting them in warehouses.

Ugh....

Ordered an 8GB model on July 3rd, hadn't received anything all day and saw that some people were walking into stores today and picking them up. I was very frustrated I'd be in a second wave which honestly isn't really fair since I ordered before most retailers put up pre-orders.... but anyway.

Decided to pass by some retailers locally here in Miami/Doral area to see if I could just walk in and pick one up and then refuse my order when it shipped.

Gamestop (I hate Gamestop): Asked the guy about Nexus 7's and at first didn't seem to know what I was talking about (typical). He then said... oh yeah... those haven't shipped to us yet.... nobody will get them till the end of the month. I correct him and say that some stores have had them for a few days now and people were already buying in store. He says well we don't have it... lol.

Sam's Club: Nope we haven't received any yet.... soon?

Staples: Sorry nothing in stock....

Meh.... pretty disappointed, head home....

Luckily! Just checked my e-mail and at 9:05pm I finally got my shipping confirmation! Probably won't be here till Monday and a bit pieved that people were able to walk in and buy it before people who pre-ordered directly from Google, but excited to finally get my N7!

These are both 8gb models orders, aren't they? I'm pretty sure Google had much less 8GB orders so the shipped them all (up until the 11th). Then they started the 16gb orders and only got to July 2 or 3rd.... I haven't seen anyone who ordered a 16 gb from Google Play after July 4 say they have been charged. Have you guys?
