OK, this is a dumb question. Does seeing a check card (debit card) authorization in my bank account mean that Google has received my money and I should receive my shipping info soon? It was like that when I first ordered on July 1st but it fell completely off a few days later only to reappear today. I have a feeling it will move to withdrawal state but I might have to wait until Monday for bank to process this. In other words, is my Nexus 7 in the hands of google now to ship it to me or is google waiting on my bank to process? I know nothing about debit card authorization :-\

Most banks do processing overnight from approx midnight to 6am. If you have a pending charge on friday evening (and assuming the vendor has sent the final charge electronically to the bank and not just an authorization) then usually it'll clear the same night. Banks do process friday night, but not saturday night or sunday night, at least in my experience.
For instance if I go to a restaurant friday night and use my card, they run the card and it does an authorization. If the restaurant batches their transactions for the day at the close of business, then it will usually clear that same night. Some places don't batch their transactions for several days (I used to have an issue with one McD's that would sometimes not charge my card for 2 weeks or more), and those will go pending on your account then fall off after 3-5 days, then when they batch it'll suddenly withdraw
Google just now said mine is being shipped. They said second wave so I expected second wave. wtf? I already got the one from GameStop. I don't need a second one.

Hey, new to the forums but I have been following them for awhile. I pre-ordered the 16gb model from the Play Store on July 8th and got an email this evening that it had shipped, so I am assuming it will be here by Monday or Tuesday. I didn't order a case or any accessories either.
nothing. I just don't want to wait til after it ships. I will be on vacation if they ship it in the second wave.

There's a 5 day return window apparently, at least according to a CS rep I spoke with. Can you try calling UPS?

Just got notification of shipping from Google (1:40 AM - happened to be up late working tonight.) The tracking number provided was generated 7/9. So irritating that my box has been labeled up and ready to go since Monday and it won't be until the middle of next week when it arrives.

I ordered on July 7. Spent 40 minutes on hold to Google to cancel last night. They couldn't. Just said to refuse it when delivered. Left my email address with CS Rep to send me an email about what we talked about and his advice. I didn't get that particular email (surprise?) but got one with info that my Nexus has shipped with a tracking number. No info in MY UPS about it and no charge to my CC. Real? Or just to placate me? We'll see.
Turns out that it didn't matter it was still in "authorization". I just got my shipping notice from google...happy days!!
About F*cking time! I just got my shipping information. One better is that I signed up for the special UPS service where I can change my shipping address for $5. That helps me because I sold my Playbook to a co-worker and she used her credit card to pay for it. During the checkout process it wouldn't let me change the name of the person it needed to be delivered to or the address. When I called Google right after the order was put it, they said they couldn't because of security. UPS suddenly became a little bit lower on my list.

I did too, I just got my shipping info about an hour ago. I am out of Sioux City, IA.
Just checked for the hell of it and happened to get the email 10 mins prior (2:10am CA). When i click the link for the tracking # it says (on UPS site) " >>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later." Anyone else have this problem? I figured I'll just check again in the morning. Happy to finally get the confirmation though!! Figures after I stopped checking every 30min haha

Yeah...it takes about 12 hours before your order shows up in UPS' data base. Don't worry, its there. : -)
