hi guys
when i plug in the charging cable to my s9+, the cable can go a bit up and down inside the port
is it the same on your devices? how tough is the usb c port?
the phone is charging normally and there isn't any dirt/lint inside the port since the phone is only one month old
any reply is appreciated!

Up and down is normal... But to a certain degree... As long as the receiver in the phone is not moving its normal.

I would say USB-C and Apple's 8 pin a.k.a Lightning Cables are tough. Tougher than MicroUSB. As it works with any side up/down.

And so far i have not seen any port connectors wiggle... Be it MicroUSB/USB-C nor Lightning. XD

Well, i have the exact opposite experience
I have a galaxy a6 2018 and the cable doesn't wiggle one bit, but that might be because the cable is brand new and the pins are not worn out

And i don't mean that the actual usb c port wiggles, it's just the cable that can go up and down
It cannot be super tight, unless you have a cable with a sleeve on the connector which goes inside the port, making it really sturdy

Mine clicks right in very tight and has near zero movement in any direction. Phone has been in use since the week it was released and I plug the charger cable in a few times daily.

Wow now thats awesome. Just dont jerk it too much... Or the connecting pin might get loose...

My OnePlus 6 is super tight. Like no nonsense tight. So tight sometimes i tend to not touch the phone. Makes me kinda worried as there is no OnePlus service center in Indonesia. Closest is located at Singapore...

Yeah, i was being just too paranoid, but after comparing it to a brand new device and realizing it's the same, my mind is just calm now lol

I had the same issue here, and sometimes fast charge didnt work. So I went to the samsung store and they replaced the cable and the charger for free. No problems since that.

Its not a good thing though. If im unlucky the darn connector is going to break. But since S9 Series has FAST WIRELESS CHARGING. I seldom use my charging port xD.

yeah, i guess that's why they make them with some extra room, to prevent it from getting damaged if dropped while charging or something
fast wireless charging is just awesome

glad it was the charger and not the charging port on the device

My S8+ started slow charging every time, and I had to unplug and replug the charger every time to make it fast charge. Recently it stopped charging, and when I unplug it and replug it, it would tell me "slow charging, and sometimes 4 , 6, 8, or even 11 hours to fully charge." After unplugging it and replugging it many times it would become 2 or 4 hours.

I fixed this issue by using a micro USB charger with a USB type-C adapter on top. It fast charged immediately. I realized that the adapter did not wiggle around, I could move it a tiny bit vertically and an even a tinier bit horizontally. On the other hand, the USB type-C cable (the one that came with the box) could wiggle around a lot. I think that's the problem with the slow charging thing.
